Gramarcy House

We loved our stay at Gramarcy House. Agnes gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. She offered to make us a pot of tea - extremely thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She even went out to get my husband the tea he likes. Our room was large with a lovely view of the garden. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely bedding. Breakfasts were delicious. It was lovely to sit in the garden in the evening after a busy day out and about.

The shower - kept going from hot to cold back to hot

Friendly, helpful host in a quiet and very relaxing home who provided an excellent breakfast . I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to return in the near future

We LOVED our stay at Gramarcy House. The gardens are just magical and kept to such a high standard. This beautiful period home is just so beautiful. Agnes is so accommodating and really spoiled us both. Our room was exceptional and absolutely spotless clean.

We had the most wonderful stay at Gramarcy House, hosted by the delightful Agnes. She greeted us with such warmth and kindness, sharing local knowledge and thoughtful suggestions that elevated our visit. The rooms were immaculate and spacious—with luxurious comfort: plush beds, tasteful décor, luxurious towels, and en‑suite facilities. We slept so well in the peaceful surroundings of the historic sandstone villa. Breakfast was exceptional—delicious, freshly made just for us, with locally sourced ingredients, delivered in a cozy dining space overlooking the garden. Situated on a quiet, scenic drive yet only a couple of minutes from the town centre and cathedral, the location was perfect. We didn't use the parking but it was available, free private parking is a real bonus. In short, every detail was flawless. Highlights from the stay: Outstanding breakfast, delicious, made-to-order full Scottish l breakfast crafted from local produce, a perfect start to the day. Spotless, comfortable rooms, each room is spacious, beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, and fitted with a private en‑suite, cozy linens, soft towels, and thoughtful amenities like tea/coffee-making facilities, flat‑screen TV, heating, and toiletries. Peaceful, central location tucked away at the end of a long drive yet only a short, quiet stroll from Brechin’s town centre, cathedral, railway museum, and more. Free private parking is included which is very convenient. Charming surroundings: Loved the restful garden, nicely furnished common areas, and the peaceful ambiance of this characterful sandstone villa.

Agnus the Host is fantastic. We had a very warm welcome and offered a drink on arrival. The room was very cosy and bed comfortable. Kettle, with a selection of tea and coffee were available for your use. Breakfast was beautifully made with a selection of hot or cold selections. Strawberries were to die for! En-suite was clean with ample towels and necessary shower products. Beautiful, homely property with well manicured gardens. We were well taken care of and made to feel at home. Will definitely stay there again. Thanks Agnus. 😘

You cannot knock the service at Gramarcy House - Agnus was absolutely fabulous and extremely welcoming. This is old fashioned hospitality, but I mean this in the best way. The room was finished well and there were no corners cut preparing it. Agnus couldn't have done more for us with breakfast being cooked to order. The parking was ample in the grounds of the house, it was difficult to believe we were in the centre of town. I would thoroughly recommend to all.

There was only one thing I would have changed and this is a bit of a me thing. I like to have my feet dandling off the bottom of a bed. The fact there was a footboard was just a bit of an annoyance for me. The bed itself was fine and comfortable, just couldn't dangle my foot off the bottom.
