Westerley Country B & B with exclusive Guest lounge

Absolutely everything was spot on. Cleanliness, friendliness, comfort, space, breakfast quality and helpfulness were all above and beyond what other reviews (however good they were) had indicated. There may be a better B&B somewhere but you'd be hard put to find it - and you'd probably need Tom Cruise to help you do it.

Nothing could have been better.

The very definition of home from home. Friendly hosts and even friendlier dogs! The ideal balance of B & B facilities and privacy of your own bathroom and lounge. Our 16 month old daughter loved the outside space and seeing the neighbouring goats.

We had the most wonderful stay at Westerley Country B & B. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth. The hosts are the kind of people who make you feel instantly at home — friendly, thoughtful, and always happy to chat — but also respectful of your space when you just want to unwind. Our room was spacious, cozy, and beautifully kept. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we had plenty of room to settle in and relax after our days out exploring. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully decorated, giving it that “home away from home” feeling. Breakfast was a real highlight. There were so many options, and everything was fresh and delicious. The fruit especially was the freshest I’ve ever had — a small detail, but one that really shows the level of care put into everything here. We absolutely loved having access to the exclusive guest lounge. It felt private, peaceful, and became our little sanctuary in the evenings — snuggled up with tea, looking out over the countryside. And those views… rolling green hills, morning light pouring in, the kind of quiet that instantly slows your breathing. The resident dogs were the sweetest, so gentle and loving. One even sulked when we were leaving, which just completely melted my heart. And to really show what kind of hosts they are — when we tried to give them a £20 tip before we left, they wouldn’t accept it. They genuinely care about the experience they’re offering, and it shows in every detail. They’re not doing this for money; they’re doing it because they love creating a beautiful, welcoming space for people to rest. We left feeling grounded, refreshed, and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a peaceful countryside retreat that feels like home from the moment you arrive, this is it. Highly, highly recommend.

Pluspunten; - buitengewoon warme en uiterst vriendelijke gastvrouw Shelley en gastheer Pete(r) - Locatie; prachtige plek met uitzicht op de mooie tuin en het kenmerkende heuvellandschap vanuit een complete woonkamer EN slaapkamer EN luxe badkamer met bad en inloopdouche met werkelijk alles erop op en eraan. Alles in detail perfect. - koelkastje aanwezig, heel veel kastopbergruimte. - Ook een prima uitvalsbasis voor het ontdekken van zuid Devon. Kregen geweldige bruikbare tips. - Heerlijk verzorgd en uitgebreid ontbijt opgediend in de keuken van de gastheer en gastvrouw. - Alles super schoon. - Een paradijs voor honden door de vrijheid in de veilige tuin en de liefdevolle benadering van Shelley en Pete, ook van hun eigen 2 honden. Ook naar de gasten toe. Ook een zakje vol met "dogtreats" stond klaar. Bij mooi weer een heerlijke tuin en terras tot je beschikking om buiten te relaxen! Het is eigenlijk te veel om op te noemen! Het is dat we alleen een cijfer 10 mogen geven maar een 10+ zou meer gepast zijn!

Negatieve punten: absoluut geen enkele !

Die Unterkunft ist perfekt für Familien. Die Gastgeber Shelly und Pete waren immer für uns erreichbar und haben sich hervorragend um unser Wohlbefinden gekümmert. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich. Der Garten ist sehr groß und gepflegt. Die Haustiere haben wir sofort in unser Herz geschlossen.

Die Gastgeber sind außergewöhnlich freundlich. Wir haben uns sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Alles ist sehr liebevoll und ästhetisch eingerichtet. Der große weitläufige Garten vor der Terrasse - und alles konnte ungestört genutzt werden. Es ist ein kleines Paradies. Das Frühstück war exzellent. Wir hatten noch nirgend wo anders so reichlich frische, reife Früchte. Sie hat sich total auf uns eingestellt und alles Glutenfrei für uns gemacht. Ein großes Wohnzimmer mit gemütlicher und bequemer Couch zum ausruhen, entspannen, einfach da sein. Auch die drei Schlafzimmer sind geräumig und alle haben den Blick ins Grüne. Die Betten sind ausgezeichnet. Wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Es ist ruhig und friedvoll dort. Das Wlan war perfekt. Ein großes Bad mit vielen Handtüchern, Badewanne und Dusche. Alles in allem ein perfekter Platz. Wir können es zu 100% empfehlen.

Es gibt nichts!

Shelley was extremely warm and welcoming, and communicated well with us. Within our group was an older gentleman who on occasion chose to stay in on his own, and she looked after him almost as if he was a member of her own family. She was flexible, open-minded and I am so grateful for everything that she did to make his stay more comfortable. Location easy to find and very comfortable, clean accommodation. Kettle and supplies in each room, plus a small fridge and microwave in the shared areas. Very handy! Breakfast offered good gluten-free options, which one of our group required. Lovely big spread of a continental breakfast, laid out and ready for all of us as a group. Shelley was also flexible with the timings of the breakfast, as we were working late hours.

Not a cooked breakfast which sometimes people expect, but we loved our continental spread!
