Grantham House

Location and property were excellent, also Chris was a wonderful host. He shared maps of the island, places to visit and eat, things to do during my stay. He answered all questions and was available at all times. He made the stay comfortable, and I felt homely. Chris also explained different ways of getting to Ryde, and I was able to change my ticket to leave on the hovercraft, the only one in the world! Breakfast was good, healthy, lots of fresh fruits, brown bread and croissants, cereals, yogurt, juices, etc. I was missing one thing, which is cheese.

Croissants were fresh first day not after, also I would have liked some cheese with my toast.

I fell in love with the island.

Chris the owner was very helpful you could come and go as you pleased. The room was large and the bed even bigger very comfortable. The house has history and is large and Chris has tried to keep it looking as it did years ago. Had a lovely time there.

We obviously hadn't read the details of the holiday properly as didn't realise it was shared bathroom but as the other guests hadn't arrived we had it to ourselves. The bathroom I have to say was lovely

Chris was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious, and the location is great, within walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

Parking is free but on the street, so there's no dedicated parking space. However, we didn't have any difficulty finding a parking spot.

The house is in a great location, set back on a quiet road in Ryde and only a short walk from the town centre and transport links to all parts of the island. We were staying for the Isle of Wight festival and shuttle buses ran throughout the day and night, again just a short walk away. Our room was an excellent size, a range of continental breakfast foods were provided every morning (which was served until later for the festival weekend) and Chris was a very welcoming and engaging host with excellent knowledge of the island. He was on hand to offer advice and recommendations when sought. Thank you for having us, I enjoyed my stay on the Isle of Wight more than a recent trip to Turkey!

Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and lovely room.

TV reception was patchy but not really an issue for me. Shared bathroom might get a little tricky if the accommodation was full?
