Summergrove House

A short stay away over Christmas, Summergrove was the perfect destination for my husband and I. We immensely enjoyed the beautiful grounds, the wonderfully furnished manor house, but most importantly the excellent host James. Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful breakfasts, an amazing three course meal for Christmas lunch! My goodness, felt so spoilt. Can highly recommend!!

It was a lovely place to stay. Rooms are spacious , and the owner is very helpful.The bed was comfortable . The plaster work on the ceiling is amazing. Lovely large shower.

The room was a little chilly, but it did warm up. No TV, but it would have taken away the ambience of the room.

Loved the breakfast, loved the ambiance, very clear James loves his home and has looked after it very well.

Sumptuous surroundings, an excellent host who welcomed us into his home and the architecture and decoration was first class!

James was fantastic as a host. The house is located in an ideal position, away from road noise. The property was warm and cosy, bed very comfortable, bath was amazing. The breakfast was delicious and just right for my day ahead. I can strongly recommend Summergrove House as a great rest stop.

Not that it really mattered, because I could watch certain programmes on my laptop, but there wasn't a TV. I do like to catch up on current affairs/the news.

What a little treasure of a place to find. This is an early Georgian house (almost 300 years old) full of craftsmanship, carvings, stucco and quirkiness all immaculately restored by the owners who are obviously hugely knowledgeable and talented. A really cosy, sumptuous place to stay. The opposite of so many gigantic and disgusting Celtic tiger hotels all over Ireland.

No noise. Too much peace and quiet. Too much beautiful architecture. James was just too damn nice!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Summergrove House. Property is beautifully restored, room was large, comfortable and clean. It's super quiet so had a great nights sleep! James, the owner was charming and welcoming and personally cooked the guest's breakfast which we all shared at a big communal table in the kitchen. There's ample parking and we'd recommend having a car to explore the area.
