Such a fantastic place to stay! Rachael goes above and beyond to ensure a great stay. Beds are super comfortable and the shower is fantastic! Lots of choice for breakfast too.

We all thought the salmon weir lodge was a perfect retreat and home base for us. Breakfast was fantastic. Our host was great-friendly and professional, helpful and kind.

Exceptional quality and service. The host Rachel is so welcoming. The breakfast exceeds anything I’ve come across before. The beds are extremely comfortable. The property is spotlessly clean. We stayed in a family room and it was extremely spacious.

Rachael is an incredibly welcoming woman. Her accommodation is really beautifully decorated and in a wonderful location. It’s also warm, very clean and comfortable and Rachael has made lots of effort with small things for her guests such as coffee/snacks available and a lovely seating area outside by the river. It’s extremely good value for money and she offers such a lovely breakfast; far more than we were expecting! Definitely stay here if you get the chance! ❤️ We will definitely come back again!

In dieser Lodge fühlt man sich gleich zu Hause. Es ist sehr gemütlich und die freundliche Ideal Vermieterin gibt einem zahlreiche Tipps und bereitet ein umwerfendes und sehr abwechslungsreiches Frühstück. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Betten bequem. Der Ort Cong ist zwar klein, hat aber nette Restaurants/Pubs und ist umgeben von einem wunderschönen verwunschenen Wald, in dem man toll wandern kann. Es gibt Flüsschen und Seen rund um den Ort. Der fantastische Connemara Nationalpark ist schnell zu erreichen und hat uns begeistert. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gern wieder.

Salmon Weir Lodge felt like a home away from home. Our host Rachael was so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Upon our visit during the very busy Easter bank holiday, she had Easter eggs and adorable stuffed animals for our kids. They were delighted! It was such a kind and generous gesture. Just one example of how welcoming Rachael is. The entire home, rooms and bathrooms were impeccable. So clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice. Home made, fresh and so delicious! The location was ideal for so many of our day trips in and around Connemara and Galway. Wish we could have stayed longer! Such a delightful stay from beginning to end. We will absolutely recommend Salmon Weir Lodge to our friends and family as much as we would like to keep this little gem to ourselves.

Idyllic waterside location, easy walking distance of Cong village and Ashford Castle. Great breakfast. Friendly and caring hostess.

We had a wonderful stay with Rachael. The house was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Rachael was very welcoming and very kindly left our two young daughters an Easter gift in our bedroom. They were absolutely delighted. It was very kind of her. We arrived on a stormy day, it was very wet and windy. So we decided to stay indoors following our arrival (although we could have spent the evening in the local village listening to live music of we wanted). Our room was very comfortable, and it was lovely listening to the storm outside whilst we were snug inside. When we woke the following morning, the sun was shinning again and Rachael had the most wonderful breakfast prepared for us to enjoy before we spent the day exploring the lovely little village of Cong and the beautiful scenery of nearby Connemara. Our girls particularly enjoyed feeding baby lambs and watching a sheep dog herding demonstration at Killary sheep farm nearby.
