The Lakshmi Heritage Tourist Home is a good option if you want to stay in Hampi just few meters from one of the side entrances (free, as they all are) to the temple area. In this sense, if that's the reason you're there, it's extremely convenient. To be honest, the pictures of the rooms here give an impression of cleanliness and splendor that is not entirely true. However, I believe that compared to the standard of accommodation in Hampi (I haven't seen any others, but looking at other places from the outside, it seemed clear to me), this guesthouse is still perfect for a western traveler. As mentioned, the location is excellent in relation to the temples, on a very quiet and peaceful street where you will never feel unsafe (and right in front of the entrance gate there are two small shops where you can find everything you need, including water, toilet paper, etc., and a couple of restaurants). The rooms are on the ground floor and first floor (and I recommend staying upstairs). The cleaning lady is always on duty, but I must say that my room was not very clean, despite the shiny floors giving that impression at first. At night, in the bathroom, you are likely to find cockroaches on the wall exploring (but they never come into the room, and anyway, it's normal in a place like Hampi, come on). Sheets and towels are always clean and fragrant (ah: you can use their washing machine for a few rupees). Extremely minimalist decor: no wardrobe, just a piece of furniture (where you can only put things on top and on the shelves, because when I opened the panels I found atavistic dirt). The ceiling fan is a bit noisy and lacks a “slow” speed for the night, but it does its job. Shower with hot water (it takes a while to get there, but it was always there). I never tried the breakfast. Wifi a bit weak. Kiran, the owner, is very responsive and quick on WhatsApp, speaks excellent English, and will help you with a smile for all your needs.

Tip: when choosing your room, check that the sliding glass windows next to the door close properly!

The Guest house has a proximity to the temple, The Host and his brother were such nice people.I stayed there for three days and it was a nice experience. I would love to visit Hampi once more in the same guest house 🎉

All the things and services were nice, but at many times the Ac stopped working I think maybe because of a power outage.

Wi-Fi, hot water, and basic toiletries were all available. The vibe was peaceful, perfect for both solo and group travelers. 👨‍💼 Service & Hospitality The caretaker was genuinely warm and helpful, always available when needed. They ensured our stay was smooth and even helped with local tips and guidance. 🍽️ Nearby Options There are plenty of cafes and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk, offering a variety of food—from South Indian breakfasts to continental meals. Whether you’re craving pancakes or a good filter coffee, it’s all close by. 🧳 Perfect for Sightseeing If you’re planning to visit Virupaksha Temple and surrounding monuments, this is honestly the best location you can get—central, clean, and hassle-free.

Not as expected and the photo shown in Booking is misleading

I stayed at Lashmi Heritage Tourist Home for three nights to explore the sights of Hampi. The room was spacious and clean and in a great location with lovely places to eat all around (especially Gopi restaurant just opposite). Kiran the host is super lovely and welcoming and all of his brothers are very friendly. I had many great conversations with Kiran and he is such a warm, genuine and funny person. Would recommend staying here if you are stopping over in Hampi and are looking for somewhere comfortable to stay.
