VerdeAmar Eco Lodge Jungle Retreat

Hiden gem in the middle of the jungle. The place is gorgeous, beautifully decorated and in the middle of the jungle, which makes it the perfect get away retreat from all the crazyness of the touristic areas in the area. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet, the food was really good, and Pepe was a wonderful host. Although he lodge stays in the middle of the jungle, it's very easy to get there, and you only have to drive through around 500m of a dirt road which is not a problem at all.

The only thing we didn't like, and we have to be picky, was the shower. The bathroom was really clean and nice but there was no water pressure in the shower and the water was either too hot or too cold. But we're in the middle of the jungle so I guess we can't have everything.

Food was fantastic and the environment was beautiful. Lots of birds to watch in the morning while eating breakfast! The location is a little out of town which makes it nice and quiet, but you can bike or even walk if you’re not carrying luggage.

Because it is so serene and quiet (no music, just jungle sounds) your room may feel a little less private if it is right beside the dining area.

Definitely the hosts! They are really friendly and helpful. The place is very quiet and away from the city therefore, the nights are really peaceful. Breakfast is very tasty and is made by the hosts upon request. We really enjoyed our stay there.

The temperature of the shower is difficult to control and the stream is very low.

Peppe & Caro very welcoming and lovely, looked after us beautifully. Rooms really tasteful. Wonderful jungle environment and lovely pool and gardens. Gorgeous dogs Blue and Apollo.

Super place off grid. Away from town/road noise. Great host, very helpful recommended some good local places & tours though some slightly more expensive than the usual activities.

No AC. Not a problem as breezy, kept big doors open with mosquito blinds to keep bugs out. But this might bother some people. Also even though it's off-grid, it's only 400m from a road which is being built with loads of trucks/dust. You can't see/hear from the hotel but the drive in had lots of lorries.

The nicest place we stayed during our Yucatán vacation. The property is quiet and beautiful, an excellent place to escape the noise of Tulum yet still be within a short drive to attractions. The owners who live on site have created a peaceful oasis and provide service that is attentive and friendly but not intrusive and offer home cooked meals at reasonable prices. The rooms, common areas and gardens are very tastefully designed and decorated, and you almost don't want to leave. There are two large dogs and two cats that live on the property that quickly became friendly once they knew us! We would have been happy to spend our entire vacation at this place and hope to have the chance to come back again one day. Highly recommended.

Nothing really to dislike. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a little difficult to find and up a rather rough road - would recommend arriving during daylight hours to get your bearings. The rooms are not sound-proofed so you can hear what's going on in other parts of the property but given that it's a small place with limited number of guests, this really wasn't an issue. Given the distance from the main road, there's almost no noise here at night.

Caro and Pepe are one of the most loveliest hosts I have ever met. Everything is full of attention and care: every single detail of their outstanding place as well as their way of preparing your food. If you want to take some time by yourself, this is definitely a place where you should go...
