Beacon Hermitage

jim and joe were the loveliest hosts - staying at their home really is like staying with family. the house is absolutely gorgeous, a perfect vintage time capsule to relax and unwind in. it’s filled with art from jim’s extensive travels, and each piece has a meaning and a history, making the whole experience feel really magical and personal. the property is also lovely, with immediate access to hiking trails as well as a beautiful garden, but still just a five minute car ride to town. they had a variety of delicious local and fresh homemade pastries available for us every morning, and did a fantastic job anticipating our every need as guests. we really wanted for nothing while we stayed there, and they were so kind and sweet they felt like old friends. we can’t wait to go back and stay again. jim and joe, thank you for making our visit truly special. 💓

Jim and Joe make the Beacon Hermitage such a cozy and inviting place to stay! The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean. The grounds are gorgeous. I was so impressed by the hospitality from my hosts and hope to stay at the Hermitage again soon!

Hosts were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Made great fresh breakfasts everyday. The art works were fantastic throughout the house and gardens! Easy to find and access even with late arrivals.

The room could use more room darkening curtains and a bit softer of a mattress.

The location was fantastic to hiking areas and both Beacon and Cold spring towns.

The temperature in our bedroom was very warm. Would have preferred it a little cooler.

Breakfast was amazing. We loved the cute room we stayed in and the downstairs living room which was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, art, and ornaments. Jim let us meet his adorable dogs. As someone who grew up with a Scottish mother and spent a lot of time in BNB's in Scotland it felt like home.
