"Lovely stay in Didcot. Recommended"

8.0

I thought the location of Didcot was very nice. the room was comfortable as was the bed and clean. The continental style breakfast was also very adequate. More than enough to eat. Our host Phillipe went out of his way to get some porridge oats and honey for me in particular, which I most appreciated. The weather was probable the hottest I've known, but Phillipe our host had fans in the rooms, excellent. Attention to detail was also very good. The area we stayed in Didcot had everything you required, nice pubs, take aways, supermarkets and petrol stations all with walking distance. You must visit the Didcot Railway centre. Our host Phillipe was super helpful. Would I stay there again. Most certainly.

The shared bathroom was inconvenient if I was being honest, However I was aware of this before I booked, so I cant moan. The kitchen and dining area was a bit cramped, if more than two or three guest making breakfast at the same time.

"Cheap and cheerful, but needs you to be comfortable sharing a bathroom."

7.0

Really helpful guy there to welcome us, went so far as helping push my car into a tight parking space, and gave brief but comprehensive overview. Room was clean and tidy, although space was tight for 2. Fridge in the room was a nice surprise. Wifi was good.

Shared kitchen is very tight to sit at the table in the outer room. Only 1 room for toilet/bath/shower shared between 4 rooms (potentially 6 people), and it's upstairs when 2 of the rooms are downstairs - could have gotten really busy (although it wasn't on our 1 night stay). Having a 2nd toilet on the ground floor would be an advantage.

The room was lovely. Patio door leading to the garden, comfy bed, a fridge, big tv, towels a d loads of little extras like disposable slippers and night cap. And fan which I was so grateful for during the heat wave.

"Great value. Delightful host. A good base for exploring the area."

8.0

Simple and great value. Philippe is a delightful host. It’s well located to visit the local area. There is off street parking. You’ll have used of a shared kitchen. Rooms are adequate. It’s a shared house but we found all the other guests to be quiet and friendly. A simple breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, croissants and juice is provided.

There isn’t a lounge or dining room. However when we stayed the weather was good so we were able to eat in the garden which has a table and chairs.

The room was clean, however I couldn’t watch TV as it wasn’t fixed already ..🤷🏻‍♂️

No English breakfast, when I asked they said it was Continental ..so I thought they would be toast+Butter+jam..there was only a few croissants an absolute shocker!
