The Shoes

A good cooked breakfast. Location within 2 miles from where I needed to be.

It was quite a walk into the city. so I would probably have eaten in the hotel if they had done some basic evening meals. particularly on one very wet evening

I enjoyed my stay at the Shoes, the staff were warm and welcoming, my room was large and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent and the overall cost of my stay was very good value given the proximity to Durham city centre. The Shoe is in a great spot for Durham city centre, there is a bus stop within yards and it’s a very quick and easy walk into the town centre.

Excellent place with a great traditional pub downstairs. Very helpful staff.

Everything was perfect, my stay was very comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming. The room was well equipped and had everything I needed. The location was ideal, well within walking distance of the city centre.

I found no one in morning for breakfast. Waited for half an hour but no body was there to serve my breakfast. Finally they refunded my breakfast charges .

there was an error i only realised that breakfast had to be pre booked when i asked if i could order on arrival i was told no the rational given was that no other guests had requested breakfast ‼️very dissapointed as the information folder in the bedroom clearly states breakfast is included Apart from this the room was very clean and warm and the staff were welcoming

Breakfast should have been included comfortable apart from breakfast issue the information folder should be udated

Full English breakfast was lovely, only downside was, you gave your order at check-in then half an hour before breakfast I read the room menu and realised they served kippers for breakfast.. My fault, I love kippers!!🙄

Clean, comfortable, warm room with first class en-suite. Excellent black-out curtains. Excellent sleep. Friendly, helpful staff. Very good bar - very good drink selection. Outstanding value.

Nothing 'not-to-like.' Cost matches what you get ... Excellent value for money.
