The breakfast for a guest house or b@b was not acceptable. My daughter and her partner were offered bread from a half opened loaf and were told that they could help themselves to Kelloggs Variety box cereal. Not suffice for an overnight stay, especially for people with allergies as well.

The room was listed as a deluxe king room. Looking up the definition of a deluxe king room states either a balcony view, larger bathroom with a potential bath and a shower. When you view the pictures on your deluxe room after about 3 pictures in it shows a bathroom with a shower cubicle and then more photos of the establishment. Why when my daughter got to the room was there no bathroom and it was a shared bathroom. Light was damaged and as it was my mother in laws scattering of her ashes my daughter got to upset to stay so my older son decided to take her place. I can assure you if this was made a lot clearer on the website that the breakfast was how it was and there was no en-suite I would not have booked so I feel that this has been mis sold as to what you are getting .

I really appreciated the attitude of the owner (or the person who welcomed us) – he was friendly, helpful, and professional. The whole sharehouse worked well: the kitchen, bathroom, and living room were clean and just as expected. I arrived with low expectations due to past experiences with shared housing, but this stay was much better than I anticipated.

There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like, as everything matched the expectations for a sharehouse. You stay with people you don’t know, so if you're not prepared for that, it might not suit you – but in our case, the other guests were pleasant. The only small downside was the downstairs bathroom, which was very compact – it might be uncomfortable for a larger person. Otherwise, everything was fine, and I just used the house for sleeping since I was out during the day.

The staff was lovely, we were warmly welcomed and offered food which was not expected. There was a substantial choice for breakfast too.

The room was dirty (the floor was very grimy), the bedsheets were very old and scratchy. The lock on the door of the bedroom worked but showed real signs of age and we weren't able to put it on latch which meant that we had to constantly worry about the door being closed with the keys inside. The worst bit of it was that in the morning we closed the kitchen door to make sure not to wake up other guests. This turned out to be a terrible idea as the latch was actually broken, we were stuck in the kitchen and had to jump over the wall at the back of the garden to be able to come back into the room by using the front door. We tried calling but the person responsible for the guest house wasn't home and even when we called it sounded like they wouldn't have been available until 2pm anyway ..even though this meant no one else could access the kitchen. To add to this, this was a very hasardous thing to do as the back garden was full of building equipment and random bits of junk (old chairs, unfixed bricks, etc) so this could have been pretty dangerous.

It was located in a nice safe suburb. The host was amazing and friendly. Really made my stay very comfortable. Very highly recommend Alister lodge and again Alister is a amazing guy

Not true about free parking. There's no parking. The street is restricted, (resident permit only 8am - 7pm) and no spaces near anyway. I had to park about 3 minutes walk away. Not ideal with tools and valuables in the car. Feels Shabby, the decor is in dire need of redoing properly. No TV in the room The property is like a house share, very noisy. Door bang shut. The sound of someone in the kitchen at 1am just traveled though the wall & door. And again at 5am.
