鳳仙花民宿

We were so touched by their kindness and hospitality. I miss this home stay so much already! It’s probably best if you have a car to get here and enjoy some of the sights around the area. However, the host was able to arrange us to have a driver in a shared van. She arranged dinners and transportation both evenings! Everyone was so generous and kind. ❤️ The host offered us tea at every chance she got. She shared her Tsou culture and language. Her neighbours all have tea or coffee for sale. Make sure to ask about it! The host also gave us frank advice about the various attractions nearby. I think we would have done better to listen to her. This was the best sleep I got on the trip. That is a very firm bed. No AC, just a fresh breeze. I slept a solid 11 hrs and fully recovered from jet lag. Absolute highlight of our trip to Taiwan. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The location is kind of secluded, however, that is to expect in the middle of the mountain. Thankfully, owners provide free transport to and from the property from the bus stops. The owners were also very nice and considerate. They even helped arrange transportation up Alishan to watch the sunrise. Overall all was great, however do note that certain things are dependent on the owners' flexibility and time. Do enquire beforehand.

One thing was that the owner can be unresponsive, however, as the owner's are quite busy and the fact that the property is mid-mountain, this was not a major issue.

Cleanliness and staff friendliness

Downhill and difficult to find the location.

The location was amazing and the married couple who ran the minsu was exceptionally kind. We had travelled to Alishan via public transport, so the couple offered to drive us from the minsu into town for dinner, and then back again. They were so welcoming, and were also able to accomodate our dietary restrictions (both vegetarian) for breakfast, which was very delicious! We were only able to stay for 1 night, but there's so much to see at Alishan, so we're definitely looking forward to coming back and staying here again!

The only downside was that we travelled there in January, so it got quite cold at night. There is a small heater in the room, but we still got a bit cold at night. But I think we also under-packed, so we'd recommend bringing an extra sweater!

Room are quite big and got heater to warm our cold night. Very comfortable and homey. Have a very good view from the balcony, perfect for morning coffee. Yuling and her husband are very kind, we talked about Taiwan history and I learned a lot from them. They also very informative and tell us how to go to alishan by public bus. I Highly recommended you guys to stay at Yuling guest house.

Nothing

Our family of four had a delightful stay here in Alishan! The location was gorgeous, the room was clean and comfortable, and the hosts were welcoming and friendly - we so enjoyed our time drinking tea and visiting with them! The delicious homemade breakfast was a wonderful bonus, but our favorite part of our stay was spending time talking with our outgoing and friendly hosts. This was one of our favorite places on our 12 day journey through Taiwan!
