I had a fantastic stay at the Kerala Cottage in Varkala. The location was absolutely amazing—peaceful and away from the noisy areas, yet just a short walk from the beach. The cottage itself was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. A special mention to Aneesh, who was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. His hospitality truly enhanced our experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Varkala!

The cottages are really nice and comfortable. They are very clean and well looked after. The location of the accommodation to the beach is amazing. You can literally be at the beach within 50 steps. The staff are absolutely amazing. Aneesh could not do enough to help and make our stay so enjoyable. He is an absolute gentleman!

It is about a 30-40 minute walk to North Cliff but that is not Kerala Cottages fault. It is a nice walk along the beach. The alternative is to use the Cottages’ rickshaw which will get you there in 10 minutes.

They have a set menu and everything is made fresh for you. Really good options and better than buffet system which is usually the case in included breakfast! It was really tasty, highly recommend! Also breakfast with a view

The path leading up to the place was inconvenient but it’s not in their hands, since the govt takes care of that road. Wouldn’t recommend it in a 4-wheeler or peak monsoons.

Fantastic and peaceful place with the sea view. You can enjoy the sound of the waves on the terrace. Very clean, staff is very professional and helpful. From one side it’s calm and quiet place very near the beach, from other side you can find big amount of different restaurants and shops in 10 min on tuk tuk or 15-20 min walking along the beach.

The property invites you to relax, surrounded by palm trees and hammocks – a true tropical escape. The rooms are beautifully furnished, equipped with both AC and a fan for comfort. You'll also find a kettle and complimentary toiletries. The manager, Aneesh, is fantastic – he speaks perfect English and has exactly the right attitude to make your stay truly memorable. He was always eager to help us, whether it was booking train tickets, organizing transportation, or even sending forgotten sunglasses to our next destination. A hotel is only as good as its manager – and with Aneesh, you don’t need to look any further.

Beautiful location right on the beach. Cottage was super nice decorated and also very clean. The manager is very friendly and really helps you with everything. For example, he booked train tickets to Kochie online for us. You also get as many bottles of water as you need for free. He also arranged a Tuk Tuk for us for a 3 hour round trip.
