Thatchcombe B&B

The Thatchcombe B&B is a very charming Bed and Breakfast in the middle of nowhere. Upon arrival we were surrounded by one street, fields and as much nature as the soul could ask for. It is the perfect little space to disconnect from the busy life in big cities. The hosts, Tony and Astrid, are welcoming and warm, and have not left one stone unturned to make this place the perfect get away. Not to forget their wonderful two dogs which made the stay extra special. We stayed in the little cottage (as they offer as well a room in the main house). The cottage was small but spacious, decorated and furnished with a lot of attention to detail. Every time we needed something we just needed to turn around and there it was, tissues, water, adaptor plugs and much more. We had direct access to the huge garden and even a barbecue at our disposal. If that is not enough the breakfast was exceptional, with a combination of everything and for every nationality. From boiled eggs, to homemade pancakes, from croissants to various cereals and home made jam, juices, and even honey.

The only thing which I could criticise was maybe the size of the bed, with 150cm by 190cm (and a soft mattress) it was just a little too small and uncountable for me and my wife, however we would like to mention that we are quite tall so for the “standard” person it might be just right.

The surrounding gardens were beautiful and the room is laid out in such a way you can really enjoy it. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. We wish we could have stayed longer.

I had to leave very early so forewent breakfast. Host provided an excellent packed lunch. Host was friendly and thoughtful Room was perfect for my needs Bed was comfy, shower was very good, gardens and surrounds were lovely, peaceful too.

Nothing to dislke

We stayed in The Nook part of the property and we loved that it was just organically part of the garden but still felt very private.

Nothing it was all exceptional, the only thing that I noted it was lacking was a full length mirror but that’s something that I can happily do without.

The location if the property and the wonderful hospitality of our hosts Tony and Astrid.

Nothing, it was perfection.

Everything, perfection is usually an idealised scenario but this couple have it nailed down. An unbelievable duo who have put considerable care and love into every aspect of the entire property.

We didn’t like that we had to leave.

Food was great, loacation and the gardens were wonderful, peaceful, really clean, hosts very welcoming

A beautiful holiday home with loving and functional furnishings down to the smallest detail. The breakfast was very rich, varied and delicious! The garden and surroundings were also impressive! Astrid and Tony are very warm hosts! Thank you for everything!

There is absolutely nothing that could be better. Except perhaps the length of our stay; next time we will stay a few days longer!
