"Exceptional"

10.0

This is an idyllic place to stay. The owners are welcoming and helpful and they’ve put so much thought and style into the rooms. Mine was comfortable and elegant- a proper fridge, comfortable bed, plenty of useful local information, excellent shower, smart TV, wonderful outlook over Letcombe Brook. The gardens are a delight; the brook flows all the way through the grounds and there are so many shady or sunny areas to sit - peaceful and close to so many lovely walks. The breakfast is excellent - faultless hospitality. Thank you.

"An idyllic B&B in a lovely rural location"

10.0

The property is situated next to a quiet country road and has an extensive, beautiful garden along a chalk stream. Breakfast was German-style continental with plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, breads and homemade jams. It was easy to walk to a nearby village using the quiet, safe road or a footpath that was accessible from the back of the property. The accommodation was tastefully furnished and decorated making it a relaxing place to stay.

We cannot think of anything! We were only there two nights.

"A perfect place to relax and unwind"

10.0

Without a doubt the best B&B I've ever stayed in! The owners, Tony & Astrid, were warm and welcoming, the rooms are well furnished with good quality items, including, a fridge plus small table and chairs, and a comfy sofa. There's a bbq in the garden too, if guests wish to cook something, (crockery and cutlery in the rooms) - not something I've come across in any other B&B. There's a well stocked bookcase in the rooms, with a selection of local guides and history books, maps and other local info. The bathroom was roomy and had a powerful shower, with towels, flannels and other little touches. We had free access to the extensive gardens, with several seating areas to enjoy the glorious surroundings, which include a bubbling chalk stream, vines, orchard, bee hives and a riot of colour in the flower beds. We saw deer, woodpeckers and many species of birds and butterflies whilst enjoying the sunshine. (Two beautiful dogs in the house too, whose company we very much enjoyed) Breakfast was delicious, continental style with cheese and cold meats, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, bread and croissants and included honey from their hives and several home made jams. It's served in the dining room, with a terrace overlooking the gardens. I could go on for much longer, but please go and try for yourself, it's perfect.

Absolutely nothing!

"Soul restoring. Really, really wonderful with good WiFI."

10.0

An utterly wonderful hidden gem of lovely accommodation with a beautiful English country garden as well as nature and wildlife in the countryside for stress to melt away. I stayed in the room looking towards the chalk stream, with french doors open to hear the fresh sound of a small waterfall and birds in the distance. Finished to an excellent standard, good WiFi. Delightful buffet style continental breakfast beautifully served, with delicious homemade relishes and jams. Lovely hosts. It really was soul restoring after stressful work days in Oxford & Reading. Stayed an extra night rather than change hotel.

It was simply fantastic. One note though... the pub up the road did a delicious meal worth paying for but the price of the wine I should've looked at before having a second glass !

"Idyllic Hobbit House Accommodation"

10.0

All you've read about this place is true - it's a beautiful, charming haven, run by 2 charming people. Parking is a bit tight, but everything else is perfect (and I'm fussy!).

Parking is tight, if you've got a big car. I would have liked the option of poached eggs at breakfast (told you I was fussy...).
