Waipara River Estate

A great place to stay in the Waipara, the location is great and just a short cycle from the wineries nearby. The rooms were lovely and very clean. Wonderful facilities and great complimentaty breakfast. Very peaceful location in the vines.

Beautiful vineyard

Really lovely location in a vineyard. The grounds were very pretty. Owner met us there and offered to take the cover off of the pool if we wanted. If it had been warmer, we would have taken him up on it. There was a bottle of wine and a nice selection of fresh fruit, some juice and breakfast foods to prepare in the room (yogurt, cereal, some pastries to toast). Nice big bathroom with a great shower. Comfortable bed and lots of space.

This was by far the most expensive place we stayed during our trip. We could hear the guests in the next unit through the connecting door in the kitchen. We were there on a Saturday and there was either a shooting range nearby, or an adjacent farmer was shooting. Maybe to scare birds away? There was a constant volley of loud reports during the afternoon and into the evening which detracted from the beautiful, peaceful setting.
