Clean, comfortable room in quiet location near Penrith; great breakfast; very friendly hosts; nice guest lounge available; very reasonably priced for the area; pub nearby; interesting historical sites such as Brougham Castle close by; parking on site

"Fantastic hosts with clean and comfortable guest rooms."

Very clean and comfortable bedrooms, with lovely dining room and also a relaxing lounge / garden room dedicated to guests. The owners Robin and Marion were great hosts and they provided a superb breakfast. Great location, quiet rural setting yet only a few minutes in off the M6. We would’ve been very happy to stay for longer but we were only there for one evening.

"Pleasant stay with lovely hosts who were very welcoming and friendly."

The host waited for me to arrive long after I had planned to. The room was clean and comfortable and all of my needs were met. Everything was as advertised, except for the road closures on my route.

The access route was closed for roadworks, but nobody advised me of this at the time! This resulted in an additional 2.5 hours of unplanned driving late at night. My room was very cold throughout my stay.

"Beautiful B&B"

A beautiful B&B in a very quaint, rural village. The owners were very welcoming and hospitable, giving us some helpful information about the area too. The facilities were of a high standard, it felt like home from home, our room was spacious, well equipped with a good size en-suite bathroom. We also had access to a lovely lounge area as well. The local pub was very friendly and being built in the 1700's had a nice authentic feel too. Breakfast was plentiful with a range of fruit, cereal and hot options available. Ullswater Lake is also only a short drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite the disappointment of our balloon flight being cancelled. Would 💯 recommend!

Our only negative would be that other than the local pub everything was a drive away, albeit a short one.

"Meadow View, Tirril, Penrith"

A very friendly and accommodating couple who made us very welcome. Ideal for breaks in the lake district and close to major motorways and a roads. The Queens Head in next door but one serves very good food.

Nothing worth mentioning other that the property is up for sale due pending retirement of the owners. If you are interested in owning a B&B in a village close to the lakes and easy access via major roads this property might be for you. Check it out
