Casa Mappamondo

The bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked wonderfully as it was very hot when I arrived in Modena. It was just a one night stay, but the location was exactly perfect ! I love being by the Duomo and Schiavoni was downstairs so perfect for getting one of their famous Panini 🥰 I had my first coffee of day There as well. The bathroom is private for my room , but out in hallway of apartment. The other room next to mine was occupied, but it was all very quiet and very comfortable. I didn’t use the kitchen or dining room, but if I had been staying longer it would be perfect. Bedroom was very large and had a round table with two chairs which was great as I went out for take away and came back to eat in my room. I can totally see returning here with friends or family as the apartment would be a delight to stay in with a group. Also, location location location was top for me. Il letto era molto comodo e l'aria condizionata funzionava a meraviglia, anche se al mio arrivo a Modena faceva molto caldo. È stato solo un soggiorno di una notte, ma la posizione era perfetta! Adoro essere vicino al Duomo e Schiavoni era al piano di sotto, quindi perfetto per prendere uno dei loro famosi panini 🥰 Ho preso lì anche il mio primo caffè della giornata. Il bagno è privato per la mia camera, ma si trova nel corridoio dell'appartamento. L'altra stanza accanto alla mia era occupata, ma era tutto molto silenzioso e molto confortevole. Non ho usato la cucina o la sala da pranzo, ma se fossi rimasto più a lungo sarebbe stato perfetto. La camera da letto era molto grande e aveva un tavolo rotondo con due sedie, il che è stato fantastico perché sono uscito per prendere cibo da asporto e sono tornato per mangiare in camera. Posso sicuramente immaginare di tornare qui con amici o familiari, perché l'appartamento sarebbe un piacere da vivere in gruppo. Inoltre, la posizione era ottima per me.

Only complaint is the convenience of the bathroom not being en-suite. Though that is out of personal laziness and since it was quiet it really didn’t affect much. Actually felt like I had whole apartment. L’unica lamentela è la comodità del bagno non in camera. Anche se è per pigrizia personale e, dato che era silenzioso, non ha influito molto. In realtà mi sembrava di avere un intero appartamento.

Posizione centralissima, estremamente comoda per visitare la città. Ospite gentile e disponibile. Arredamento un po' datato ma la stanza è ampia e comoda. Il bagno è al di fuori della camera, passando per gli ambienti comuni a tutti gli ospiti e può non piacere a tutti ma è fornito di ciò che serve.

Great location and lovely large apartment

beautiful apartment, loved the theme of the globes furniture, very elegant. It was in a great location too. I was grateful for the host providing coffee, exactly what I needed in the morning!

The bedding was damp and clammy and after sending a message to the host, he provided me with just a duvet replacement which didn't fit the bed and it was also damp and clammy. I removed the pillow casing but it was still damp and clammy. I also didn't understand why I had to pay the tourist tax in cash, as the previous accommodation in Parma was €1 less and I paid by card. the host here in Modena told me that it was not possible to pay with card, I found that a bit strange.

The location of the apartment is the best. Super central right between the central square and the cathedral and the local food market.

The house is very noisy. You can hear everything from the street but also from the other rooms. Even though it has a private bathroom as advertised, the bathroom is in the common areas and not in the room, making it a bit uncomfortable. We thought the rooms are independent with the bathroom en suite and only the kitchen dinning area would be shared.

Wi-fi is very slow - ended up using my own hotspot and data roaming. Otherwise, no issues at all and place was lovely.

Beautiful old building, great apartment, tastefully decorated, all amenities, very clean, right in the middle of town
