Aultnagar Accommodation

A very welcoming place with everything you could wish for. Our room was spacious with a lovely view, breakfast was generous and delicious and the personal touch was particularly heartwarming.

Friendly and attentive staff. Neat&tidy, superbly clean room (and house in general). Simple but delicious and hearty breakfast. Reliable WiFi. Parking on site. Place is on the outskirts of Kirkwall (2' driving, 10' on foot)in a quiet location with great views on the N part of Mainland and the capital. 100% recommend

2 extra days on the Orkneys would have been great 🙂

Aultnagar has a ‘home away from home’ feel to it. The house is inviting, well adapted for visitors and Laura has been the most welcoming host, very caring, attentive and friendly. I really appreciated the warm welcome as it was my first time travelling solo in a long time. I also was able to work remotely one day with great wi-fi connection and a dedicated space in the room. The room itself was very comfortable and had a great view of Kirkwall. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Aultnagar when you visit Orkney!

Very friendly hosts, very clean and modern house with basic cooking amenities (oven, kettle and microwave). Proximity to Kirkwall as a base for my work but good for island access. Very nice breakfast with plenty of choice. I was very appreciative of having non-dairy milk provided upon request. Lovely views over kirkwall and the sea at the front and a field at the back. Very peaceful. Room and ensuite was very clean and warm. The bed had an electric blanket which was appreciated but not necessary during my stay. Good parking

Laura was such a welcoming host, she was kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable about the area and always happy to help. There was a wonderful selection for breakfast every morning with plenty of options available should you have dietary requirements. Aultnagar is easy to locate, a quick walk to a bus route if no car is available to explore the rest of the island, clean, modern and relaxing with amazing views over Kirkwall. It was reassuring knowing that every day after exploring the island and visiting relatives that I knew I was coming back to the accommodation and would have a great sleep. I had such a wonderful stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Orkney.
