Stanwell Stansted Airport

Rather close to the airoport, 10 mins by bus and the stop is just across the road. Perfect option for 1 night stop before/after the flight.

Check in is strictly at 3 pm (even 20-30 minutes earlier is not possible), there is no option to wait in common area before the check in if you arrived earlier. However there is a nice pub across the street where you can wait, therefore it was not a problem for me (but might be a problem if you are traveling with children). There were no kitchen facilities (even no sink, knifes, forks, spoons, microwave), therefore for more than 1 night this might be not the best option in terms of cooking

The hotel itself was nice, we were only there to sleep because we had some activities planned in London and didn't get to use the back garden (which I saw in passing). It was a very quiet area with cute houses. As I said, the drop off bus stop was just around the corner, and pick up stop was right in front of the hotel, which was super convenient. Ride to/from the airport was very quick as well.

We booked this place because of its closeness to the airport. Our flight was due to land around midnight, with an arrival to the hotel around 1am. I put this information on the booking and asked if the shuttle they offer was 24h, but got no answer on either request. Our flight was delayed and landed around 0:45, which made us have to wait until the next bus at 2:45am. Important facts: The front desk is not open 24h like the description says. We arrived to the hotel almost at 3am and, as we were preparing to send a whatsapp message to check in, a pretty annoyed man came and said that he was sleeping. If I had known that front desk was not 24h, I probably wouldn't have booked this place, because I'm not one to wake people up in the middle of the night. With the booking confirmation, the hotel let us know the 3 modes of transportation to get there, but prices were pretty far off from what the email stated. Uber was quoting me £45 for the 2 km ride. Taxi was calculated per person, so it was £24. The bus was the best option at £2 per person, but check the schedule in advance to make sure that you'll make it. For reference, the two lines that take you from the airport to the hotel are 333 and X20. When we landed at the airport and saw the options, we tried to contact the phone number I was given for the shuttle, but 1. The man was probably asleep by 1am, and 2. it wasn't indicated that there was a whatsapp associated with the phone number... I didn't have a phone plan (only data), so it would have been great if it had been stated in the email, as it was on the hotel door...

Staff were great and helpful.

Booking crash system & issues for staff members and me being stressed over weather my booking went thru. Temperature was too much to handle.

Cleaning srandards arnt great but i can overlook for the proximity to stanstead

Good location, close to the airport and very convenient. The owner is super nice and very accommodating. I loved the instructions to order food and the local recommendations.

Location is literally a sleeping town next to the airport. Don't plan to do much out of the apartment, and definitely plan to bring food if you're not wanting to order in. It's not a bad thing for me, but it can be for other people.
