AB Suite Innovative Design B & B

Our smallish room was beautifully decorated in a "shabby chic" style and had lots of quirky character and details. The contrasting modern bathroom was lovely with a great shower. Our hostess Cristina was very helpful and communicated well. Arrangements for access, payment, keys etc. were fine. The property is well located for the city centre with a 15 minute walk to reach the main areas of interest. I'd recommend taking up the (paid for) secure parking on site as you'd probably have difficulties finding a safe and guaranteed place nearby. Parking in the city is a challenge. She also allowed us to stay on in the car park until midday to enjoy more of Bologna's sights so it was much appreciated. We'd be very happy to stay there again.

We had a little difficulty in finding the accommodation and the parking but our "SOS" phone call was answered promptly and we were able to get into the secure off street parking where we left the car for the duration of the stay.

The host was very welcoming and kind.

The room was a little bit small.

The apartment is conveniently located walking distance from the city centre. The check-in was smooth and the owner friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and as described on the photos. The bed was comfortable. The room contains a small kitchenette in a closet, which is a great idea, though not very practical if not at all equipped.

The bathroom was incredibly dark. With dark grey walls & tiles, black toilette & back bidet, and atmospheric lightening it felt very claustrophobic. No chance if you try to floss your teeth or apply makeup. There was an overwhelming smell of incense in the corridor (I counted 3 sets of incense sticks), and partly in the room as well. While someone might enjoy this, a rented space should in my opinion have a more neutral smell. I had to immediately open the window (not easy) to prevent a migraine.

Cristina was the most kind host. She had cake and croissants ready for all the guests and was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable.

To me personally it was a bit too expensive but I understand that those were busy days with a marathon and a book fair. So I would definitely come back!!

Clean, easy walk to centre. We were welcomed by woman who showed us (no common language) our rooms, biscuits in the kitchen, juice in the fridge. There were no instructions/ information so we assumed the kitchen was a common area. The "breakfast" was packet dried snacks in our rooms, so we bought milk for coffee and fruit, put in the fridge and cut up in the kitchen. Like most travellers, we did a small amount of washing and put it in the courtyard, which the woman had indicated we could use. We received an email, offensive in tone, informing us we were not to use the kitchen nor do any washing. We withdrew - though left the fruit in the fridge. Our travel cutting board disappeared and was never returned. The next day I was having an afternoon rest in the bedroom, wearing a nightdress, heard a noise, opened my door to find a strange man standing there. I was angry, as we also had our teenage grandaughter with us, who would have been upset. Emailed the proprietor, she said he was her electrician. The next afternoon he returned and for 2 hours drilled and hammered in the kitchen, so we could not rest. To top off the unpleasantness - he'd installed a surveillance camera in the kitchen! This was our 10th trip to Italy, staying in a variety of hotels, B & Bs, Air B & Bs - but not this one again!

AB Suite is a perfect place to do many things: business, tourism, rest, love or all this together. Because to make love, a vacation or a business meeting, you must have a BEAUTIFUL place! Amazing room design, curated by an artist, in the style of a 5-star, beautiful in every detail. Fantastic bathroom, with sophisticated soaps and cosmetics, powerful and safe hair dryer. Breakfast so good to be moved! (Also cofee machines, kettles, microwaves and induction hobs to warm up a snack). In the center of Bologna, 50 meters from the Art Gallery and 5 minutes from the Towers, 10 from the train station. Even the owner, a fantastic business girl, is always perfectly in order, elegant and glam like her place! No other B&B will look nice after being here! Try AB Suite and you'll be back for sure!

We spent one night at this B&B. The place is clean and quiet. It has a parking lot for three cars. It is very close to the city center/ old town (walking distance) but still outside ztl. The only flaw is in regard to the wi-fi. It didn’t work at all during our stay.

Stayed for one night in August. The big plus - the private parking (only it is beyond me why one has to add 10 euros when it is a private parking, not an external lot). It is not what we had expected in terms of B&B - the "breakfast" was a collection of packaged biscuits and a coffee capsule, jam, nutella and honey... Not quite what we had hoped for. We were greeted by a young woman who is working there. She did not know English but did her best to supply us with explanations on the map and the apartment. Originally reserved a triple room for the kids (youngest is 16) and the princess suite for us. As we arrived the owner (only spoke on the phone) suggested to let us have a double room right next to the triple (which in fact is a single room and a double room), so in fact we had a 3 bedroom apartment all to ourselves. The rooms: The double room had a horrible shower with very weak water pressure. No blinds, only curtains. A glass door to the parking lot also had only curtain. The single room was rather sweet. The other double room was painted dark and I guess that where the "innovative design" comes from. I would have preferred less innovative and more warm and welcoming. But the bed was comfortable enough. The shared bathroom shower was really great - both design and water pressure wise. The entrance to this 3 bedroom flat is strange. You enter through the parking gate, there is another iron gate and behind it a see-through transparent door. The metal gate locks, the door does not. And there's no curtain or shade to protect your privacy from anyone who walks in the parking lot. The place has a kitchen with a decent refrigerator, dishwasher and a stove. But they don't offer cooking facilities which is really a missed potential. The entrance hall, where the kitchen is, you could remove the old cabinet from there and place a table and 5 chairs and you've got a really nice apartment. As for cleaning: Maybe it is the type of flooring - but it felt dirty and walking from the shower to bed my feet became black. Also, as you enter through the yard/parking lot into the apartment the whole area outside is very dirty with many cigarette buds. There is a dirty seating area outside - another missed potential. A pity.

The bed and breakfast is in a great location about a 15 minute walk from the main square. Found the area quite enough at night and the bed comfortable. The decor is really pretty and welcoming, cleanliness seemed hit and miss, bedding was clean, bathroom clean etc however the floor in the bedroom was not clean, yes it appeared clean at first glance but left my socks totally black after walking on it for abit, one morning i dropped a charm off my braclet when i lifted up the bottom of the table cloth i noticed lots of crumbs (we didn't have breakfast so weren't from us) you can't mention any issues as nobody is present. The host is friendly enough and apart from the dirty floor we had no issues really, however some people may want somwhere where the host is present abit more. Checkout was odd as you just hook your keys on the door of room when you leave as nobody is around for this. You find this information on back of bedroom door, nobody informs you so make sure you read through the rules.

Beautiful and original bed & breakfast. We stayed in a big suite the name was SUITE TOUR BLANC with big round bed and an original lamp on the bed making a very cosy nest. We have enjoy few day in this place, very close to the two tower, private parking was perfect for us. Cristina was very friendly and helpful with us, We loved the possibility to do coffee and to have breakfast in room. Very special things. Quiet room, smart tv, good wi fi, air conditioned and very very clean.. we come back very soon. We highly recommended..
