AB Suite Innovative Design B & B

We stayed in the Princess room, which was quite cozy. Everything was as advertised: the bed and the breakfast. The bed was just as pictured on the website, with a spread of rose petals on our first night. The breakfast, or lack thereof, was also as advertised. One tiny bottle of juice plus one espresso pod per person. Also, a bunch of pre-packaged, mostly crunchy baked products. The owner, Cristina, agreed to provide us with more juice and coffee pods when I asked her. But there were a lot of small strange things about this B&B that made me wonder. Why were the bottle openers tied to a table in the shared hallway? Are they so prohibitively expensive to equip each room with its own bottle opener? Our room had a very convenient kitchenette, but no utensils or pots and pans. Why? Why building a kitchenette if the guests are not supposed to use it? The lighting fixtures in the bathroom were quite ornate and really nice to look at, but the amount of light they produced was by far not enough to see one's face in the mirror, at least for those of us who like to shave. But the light in the shower cabin was quite bright. Makes perfect sense, right?

Nice, clean rooms. I am also posting photos so that u get an idea. Nice comfortable bed, big TV (for whoever cares!), descent breakfast, great great great espresso coffee, nice bathroom with all necessary equipment. The owner is a beautiful lady, who speak English and is very very helpful. The location is super, I suggest it.

This is a great BnB very well located close to thehistorical town centre and the many eateries, shops and activities Bologna is known for. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful but plenty of notice is needed as the BnB is not attended full time. The main drawback was the unexpected surcharge of close to $25% from listed price for accommodating 2 people - despite the booking site clearly states that the room is for 2 people and the "cash" only policy which was not stated on booking ( we note that any cancellation fees were conveniently to be handled by card). The fact that no receipts could be issued makes the demands for unexpected cash payments somewhat of an unwelcome surprise.

Beautiful room, great attention to detail and impressive curtains! A very lovely stay. Walkable distance 15-20 minutes from the train station or to the centre of town. Christine was very helpful and friendly too. Bed was very comfortable.

B&B is in a good location, only a 15 min stroll into the centre and 20 mins walk from the train station/airport bus stop. The owner, Cristina, is lovely and really welcoming, on hand to answer questions whether in person or by phone. We stayed in the 'Princess Room' which was beautiful, clean and the bed was really comfortable. We came back one day to surprise bottle of Spumante, a nice touch! Just one thing to note - the B&B is in a residential apartment block so there is no signage from the road. See the attached photo of the front door so you don't miss it. Just press the buzzer when you are there and Cristina will welcome you in. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful city of Bologna.

The owner, Cristina Baglioni was gracious and welcoming. She is very friendly, extremely helpful, and has a great sense of humor. The accommodations were beautifully furnished, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. Each morning she would place trays of fresh, warm pastries and hot coffee on a trolley in the hallway right outside our room. In the room, there were packaged pastries and instant coffee for our convenience. A microwave, refrigerator and wet bar were in this room as well. The B&B was only a 15 minute walk to a beautiful piazza, by way of the University of Bologna. We enjoyed our stay there so much, we hope to return in 2017 to visit Cristina and her lovely city again! We stayed at AB Suite B&B for 2 nights this month. Such a lovely place like a hidden gem. Situated just outside the city walls so an easy walk to the city center of beautiful Bologna. Private parking next door. Christina is so nice and helpful! We really recommend this place and will definitely return if we visit Bologna again.

this B&B is situated just outside the city centre wall. Only few minuts walk from the historical centre of Bologna. I stay 5 nights in the Princess room, during my business trip. Nice and clean, room comfortable and isolated from road noise. Thanks to Cristina, the owner of the B&B, very nice and welcoming. I can recommend this B&B to everyone. I hope to be there very soon for my next trip. Thanks.

We went to Bologna, on our way back from Tuscany to Germany and we decided to stay for a night in the "Princes", the room with a huge silver crown. It is rather difficult to describe AB Suite as world seems not to express the feelings we experienced. Cristina's welcoming has been above our expectation. An elegant italian woman even early in the morning in her house shoes and "morgen mantel", when we saw her placing a small tray of "just backed" brioches, on the breakfast trolley. The room was finely decorated, elegant and sober in its eccentricity. For us it was a special stay and we could not finish our vacation better. Cristina gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and taverns. Even breakfast is special, we found a table already laid with silver cutlery, crystal glasses and golden cups, plus everything you need to prepare a good breakfast (with fresh milk and butter in the fridge). Every detail has a meaning and nothing is put there by chance. We really felt pampered. The whole environment is muffled, the rooms are soundproofed and the air conditioner / dehumidifier in the room worked out great! Highly recommended.

Cute, if a bit funky decor. Looks pretty much like the pictures. Room comfortable, but noisy from busy street and hot (the small air conditioner couldn't overcome the summer heat). Breakfast mainly consisted of a croissant, though it was delicious. Host was not as present as the other bed and breakfasts where we stayed, though she immediately got the toilet working when there was a problem and provided complimentary prosecco and treats since it was our honeymoon. Location was just outside the old city walls. It's about a 20 minute walk to the main square. We ate so much in Bologna that we appreciated these extra steps a day, but others might find it a bit far and it leads through the university area, which is not as clean and nice as other parts of town. There is parking, but you should reserve it and it's 10 euros/day. Overall, it felt like a cross between a bed and breakfast, small hotel, and air bnb.
