Villa Jacaranda

Convenient location in the middle of Varkala but noisy at times. View from veranda outstanding (where we ate all our meals which were very good). All the staff were very helpful around the house, when arranging a tuk-tuk, choosing restaurants etc. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Only real complaint was the pre-payment of the room deposit which took weeks to verify. An alternative method of payment would be helpful.

We loved our stay at Villa Jacaranda. Ajay is a superb host, extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic.

There was nothing we did not like.

Villa Jacaranda is a small well appointed home stay. Room 4 had a magnificent, attractive terrace with lovely views. The rooms are tastefully appointed and spacious. Ajay and his team are so friendly and welcoming and keen to help whenever they can and make our stay great. The breakfast served on our terrace was fresh and delicious, including excellent homemade bread. I would thoroughly recommend Villa Jacaranda and particularly room 4 at the top of the property.

There was nothing I didn’t like about Villa Jacaranda.

The villa is conveniently located just a few minutes walking from Varkala beach. Ajay did a fantastic job in furnishing and decorating the house. Every element seems to have been carefully chosen ! They provide continental or keralese breakfast on request. I highly recommend this place. 👌

Everything was great.

Villa Jacaranda is a little oasis of calm and beauty where we had a warm welcome. Ajay and his team are helpful but unobtrusive. There is a keen eye for detail like the lush and beautiful gardens surrounding the pool. Our stay felt relaxed and tranquil. Do try the home cooked dinners offered as an extra; you will not be disappointed. Restaurant critics, eat your heart out!

The mattresses were a bit lumpy

We loved everything! Our room was beautifully furnished (the textiles are enviable) and the private balcony overlooking the lush garden, and with sea view, was great. Breakfasts out on the balcony were delicious, especially the fruit bowl and bhurji eggs, and the couple of dinners we had were really outstanding. The beach is about a 5 min walk, and we enjoyed visiting the nearby temple too. The owner Ajay is charming, and interesting to chat to, as well as being a brilliant cook. He made some helpful suggestions about things we might like to do, and which we enjoyed, and he really made us feel at home. The staff are also lovely. The garden pool is another highlight, and the sweet spaniel Romy, and the resident duck add to the immense charm of Villa Jacaranda. We really didn’t want to leave, and certainly hope to return. Thank you Ajay and staff for a wonderful few days!

What a wonderful and special place to stay in Varkala. Superbly located on south cliff, Villa Jacaranda is an oasis of serenity and style with every design detail thoughtfully curated. The room, the terrace and the garden are beautiful. Breakfast served on our private terrace was healthy and delicious. You must have dinner whilst here - the vegetarian banquet is a feast of many dishes, at the standard of a tasting menu at the best restaurant! What a treat.

Nothing.

Everything at Villa Jacaranda exudes attention to detail. From the decor, to the garden, the breakfast service, the room furnishings. One example, never before had I a fruit bowl in which I could count 12 varieties. Ajay is a wonderful host, and my thanks to all of his excellent staff.
