Kerikeri Blue Chair B&B

Didn’t like Small room. Very tired ensuite - shower leaked water. Refrigerator right next to head of bed. Hummed all night. China cabinet in an already small room, on other side of bed Strange smell in room. Black sheets, stained carpet. Breakfast table was so tiny my partner had to stand to eat. The table was situated at the front door and over looked street. Didn’t feel comfortable at all. Pictures of vegetable boxes and fruit trees made me think we would be staying in a homestead type setting. However it was more like a kids room that had been converted at the front of the house facing the street. One very small window in room. Spa wasn’t working, or positioned as seen in photos. We were offered a discount on next visit because the spa was out of order - but sadly due to other factors stated we won’t return. Positives Location was close to markets and short drive to township. Breakfast wasn’t what we would normally eat - white toast - canned peaches - 1 crepe with sugar. However a certain amount of effort & care was put into the meal.

Fantastic hostess, very helpful with local information. We were made to feel very welcome, and Jennie even provided a cup of tea and cake on arrival. Great breakfast.

Just a personal aversion to polyester sheets. Otherwise all good.

The location and outlook was beautiful, peaceful and luscious. Breakfast was amazing with something different each of 4 mornings. Loved the freshness, the tasty cooking and the beautiful jams.

Charming guestroom B&B in this home. Great communication and directions. I had a two-night stay and would be delighted to return, both to Kerikeri and this B&B. I was welcomed promptly but had my own private space. Breakfasts were stunning and excellent - with plentiful fruit from their garden. It is just off the main street, but easy to get to the main attractions and to the heart of town. I rented a car and visited the historical and cultural sites, and a side trip to Paihia. There is also a Skydive school (I did a tandem). Lovely!!!
