At Loum

The apartment was located in the middle of the old town. Easy walk to all attractions. We were able to do a canal tour and visit all museums and restaurants on foot. We were early, so the host let us check in an hour early. Loved the rooftop terrace. Bed was comfortable, and the apartment had most amenities. This is a great alternative to staying in Amsterdam.

We were not aware of the parking situation until a couple of days prior to checking in. The daily parking garage is a 15-minute walk away. It is difficult when you must bring your luggage. The host does send this info, but not until the day before check-in. It would have been nice to have a smart TV so we could use our streaming accounts. It did not have a toaster. There are no instructions on how to start the gas stove. Night time was noisy, as there is a shop where people gather, which is open until 3 am. Bring ear plugs. There is no information provided about attractions, so come prepared.

Perfect on every way.

Location, apartment immaculate, comfortable. Loved sitting in the sun on the outdoor rooftop terrace. Bed was like sleeping in a cloud. Fantastic sleep. Loved listening to the chimes from the church at the back of the apartment.

The only thing missing and needs to have is a microwave to heat up food.

I had such a wonderful time in this apartment- everything was perfect . I felt very safe traveling here alone and was made to feel very welcome. The location was excellent and it was very convenient to drop off shopping or pick up a sweater. Alkmaar itself is wonderful, like a mini Amsterdam but without any of the bad parts. Already planning a return visit.

You sleep in the middle of the city centre with a beautiful view on the church. The appartement itself is perfectly cosy, and has everything you might need for your stay. If not, you walk downstairs and you are right in the shopping streets. At the café below you find great coffee and delicious food. The hosts are really kind and they make time for you to chat a bit. I would highly recommend staying at this bnb.

I didn't mind at all, but you do hear churchbells ringing once or twice a day. And I was warned about some noice from neighbouring clubs, but with earplugs I didn't hear a thing.

Excellent value for money, very cozy and clean place! Super nice service and many amenities, as it is in the center. I highly recommend it!

It is difficult to park as it is right in the center. But there are paid places around for parking very close to the accommodation.

Great central location. Lovely decor, lots of space, loved the terrace. Very clean & well equipped. The owner Chris was friendly & welcoming.

Bar next door was loud sometimes.
