Hurst Hill

Countryside setting, lovely and quiet. Hosts were amazing. Provided a fantastic home cooked meal with wine which they shared with us. A wonderful social element evening.

Bathroom could do with a bit of tlc. But was adequate for our needs.

The owner was not expecting our party of 4 so the 2 rooms we booked weeks in advance weren’t available for us - this completely messed up our plans and we missed a large part of the celebrations we came for. The host has also been totally unresponsive to calls and messages through booking.com with regards to issuing a refund. Apparently not concerned in the slightest about letting us down. The area is rural so it was very difficult to find alternative accommodation at short notice. And we had to pay a lot more when we found an alternative place to stay. By far the worst experience through booking.com ever. Including well over an hour spent on the phone to their customer service trying to ensure we get a refund.

Totally relaxed atmosphere. Gus is a Jovial Host who is very chilled out. Free run of the lovely property and a friendly family too. Plus Winston the Dog who greeted us every time.

In the Cottage,The upper floor boards were very creaky if anyone up there. But would not deter us from staying again

Guy is a wonderful host and owner in what is a beautiful old farmhouse with lots of character and historical features (mind your head on the beams). It has its own unique charm & relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a peaceful escape and getting away from it all. From the initial welcome, we knew we'd found a hidden gem, and we were looked after by Guy throughout our time there. Breakfast is toast and cereals, with excellent homemade fresh bread each morning, included in the price of the booking. Alternatively, for a very reasonable £12, a wonderful cooked breakfast I can recommend. Overall, it was a perfect escape, great value for money, and a place I'd love to return to stay without any hesitation whenever in this area.

We stayed here for a family wedding in June for 2 nights and had a lovely time. The host, Guy, was very lovely to us and provided a beautiful breakfast. It was lovely to stay in his property full of character and charm.

Guy our host is sociable, welcoming and helpful. Fantastic experience in a beautiful location, historic building with original features. Guy was a fantastic host, opening his home to us all. Great cook and service for us. Everything was of high quality and we had an amazing holiday experience. Beautiful pubs nearby serving lovely dishes of food with traditional old fashioned featurse and comfort.
