"A welcome home from home with more than a touch of class"

Downham hall is beautifully located amongst rolling countryside, and feels very stately as you drive up. It is well maintained and the gardens are beautiful, with a very well organised layout for outdoor entertainment as the sun sets over the hills. The staff were all amazing given we had our 4 month old puppy with us and this was his first stay-away - so was a little energised at everything! (Sorry cat!). All in all an amazing stay pre birthday celebrations.

Nothing springs to mind.

"Wonderful location"

Wonderful location. So peaceful.

Sad not to be able to get dinner on Sunday (Fathers' Day) or Monday but the Old Windmill pub was an excellent alternative

"Wish we could have stayed longer."

Beautiful, tastefully decorated building and grounds. The food and service were magnificent. The comfort of the bedroom was second to none.

"Good but needs a proper relaxing area."

The room was spacious and comfortable and surprisingly quiet given that there were 2 functions on that night. Breakfast was good although it seemed cooked by microwave,

There was a dinner function with 40 or more guests and an outside party on. However there was no lounge or separate bar with TV for staying guests to relax. Sad really.
