Just didn't meet expectations

The owner was unable to serve breakfast herself but she laid it all out for us and there was a very good choice. This only worked because we were the only ones in the hotel but for us, on the day, it was fine and good value. We were there in early December and the property and bedrooms were a little cold as the heating was not the most efficient. We were made to feel most welcome and overall good value for the money.

Nothing bad to say about our stay.

Beautiful old house and perfect location for wedding reception at nearby barn- very friendly ladies - nice fresh fruit cereal and toast breakfast

Because property so old ceilings very low so unable to sit up in bed and read- bathroom particularly small and shower too low to stand under but nice to have a bath

The building is stunning and steeped with history, I would have like a longer stay and at the time of year you could get the best from the location.

I would have had to be about 2'6" high to get under the shower (not exaggerating!) but there has to be some trade offs for staying in a place of this age and character. The only other observation was it was a bit hard to find, as its tucked away, some signs on the road and clear indication where to park would have made it easier (especially as it was dark because of time of year)

Lacking a few touches e.g. bedside lamp, shampoo etc.
