Kotare BandB

Kotare is a countryside gem in the hills of Geraldine. So peaceful with lovely views. The property is beautiful with a wonderful garden with lots of fruit trees. Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable, especially the huge bed! It was a joy to have a bath in the big tub with that magnificent view. It was such a pleasure to meet Anne who is a lovely person and thoughtful host. She made us a delicious breakfast and so nice to enjoy with her in the sunny courtyard. Many thanks for the tranquil stay in such a beautiful setting. Highly recommend!

Hello, we are down to our last hours before we head home. We will be back! I mentioned it would be hard to beat staying at your place and it is true. Hospitality, Nice View and Breakfast

My wife and I stayed just one night at Kotare B&B, but we enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of Rhys and Anne and the spacious guest unit attached to their modern home. There were excellent views over idyllic rolling hills of South Canterbury from the Geraldine Downs location, just a short distance out of the town of Geraldine. Every conceivable facility was provided in the guest accommodation, though as we only stayed one night, we could hardly do justice to all the extras at hand, which included a large library in the guest bedroom and a well-stocked fridge with tasty morsels and drinks. The adjoining bathroom was also very spacious and for those who prefer the luxury of a hot bath rather than a shower, this is also available. Rhys and Anne's home is a modern environmentally friendly construction with double glazed windows. There is a deck overlooking the large garden and surrounding countryside with amazing views and the sound of birdsong. The breakfast was served in the guest room, and extensive menu options were available to choose from. Especially delicious were the stewed apricots with muesli and yogourt.

The warm and personal touch. Attention to the smallest detail.

We loved everything, but our vehicle was a campervan, so we couldn't drive in. Perhaps a small trolley (used for ferrying pets?) at the entrance for luggage could help?

Friendly reception from our hosts, made us feel at home and relaxed straight away. Room wonderful with comfy bed. Very clean. Lovely quiet location with garden views, plenty of birdlife to watch and listen to. Would strongly recommend
