The Residence Hikkaduwa

After a long time, I was able to relax in Hikkaduwa. Here is located in a quiet location, close to the beach and the center. Compared to a 5-star hotel, it is clean and friendly. Beds, furniture, bathroom amenities, etc. are arranged knowing the mind of the traveler, and above all, the attitude of the owner and staff who satisfies the needs of customers is impressive. We were traveling for 3 weeks across Sri Lanka from west to east coast and this place is the only one you would love to stay as long as you can. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. It’s located in a quiet place, few minutes walk from the beach. Special thanks to Chamara - the owner of this beautiful hotel. He pays attention to every detail and is always ready to help in any whim.

The place was very nice, clean, spacious, family owned, so it was very quiet. The location is good if you want to stay away from the beach. They prepared nice take-away breakfast at 6AM, when we left.

The mosquitoes and flies around the pool unfortunately made it difficult to enjoy it.

Amazing. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure your stay in Sri Lanka, not just The Residence is memorable. The room is very comfortable with all you need, and the staff stop at nothing to make you feel at home.

Facilities were absolutely amazing. It had everything we needed and even more. Cleanliness was also great. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. They always asked us what we preferred and they adapted really well. Good location and helpful and kind staff. Always available for every need we had

Nothing at all

The stay in The Residence Hikkaduwa was pleasant from the first minute we entered the territory. It was warm welcome with tea and wet towels that was real support after the long way to Sri Lanka. The owner of the villa was very attentive to us. Every morning he visited us during breakfast having a small talk and asking if we need any help. During the daytime he was always easy reachable and gave us some useful hints. Also he provided us a transfer from Colombo airport to the Residence. The price was a bit higher than you can find but for me it’s more reliable when you know that you are met the person from the hotel. The Villa itself is placed in a beautiful calm place. In close walking distances to the ocean, the bus station and the train station. Also not far from the fruit market,shops, banks and cafes. Inside The Residence has only two rooms for guests. It brings extra quietness in the place. Rooms are very spacious, modern and nice decorated. You get everything you need for comfortable stay. I should put extra attention to the excellent breakfasts we were provided at the Villa. They were served on our terrace with a view at the garden. We have chosen SriLanka type of breakfast and it was the peace of art and taste. Special regards and many thanks to the woman who cooked them, Dayomini. What is also important every day of our stay the food was different and we enjoyed it a lot.

Our stay at the villa was unforgettable. Everything was perfect. The villa is surrounded by the very beautiful garden full of flowers and trees. We could enjoy birds singing every morning. The room is lovely and comfortable, it has everything one may need. There's also a large terrace with a nice view. Beauty is in every detail: flowers in the room, nice pictures, food serving. Breakfasts are incredibly delicious and diverse. We selected Sri Lanka breakfast option with lots of fruits and unique local dishes. The location is great, everything is really close: market, ocean, bus station, main street with shops, cafes and banks. The staff is superb - very friendly, generous and careful. They did everything to provide us comfort in every detail. The host picked us from the airport, told us many interesting facts about Sri Lanka and helped us with different things. I am really happy that we selected The Residence Hikkaduwa for our holiday. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends. Thank you for making our stay heaven-like.

it was my first stay in Sri lanka and so far the best. amazing place, quiet yet central, the host is very welcoming and really taking care of you and your needs, only 2 rooms so it’s almost your personal place which I have to say is super clean and modern. So many small thoughtful things — you get all the robes, shampoos, lotions and well the breakfast is another level. Be sure you will get anything you need. I really recommend this place, search no more!

If you want to have a pleasant and great stay, this is more than a recommendable place. The location is perfect close to the busy streets but located in a quiet street. The staff is more than friendly and it feels like coming home. The rooms are adorable and really big, where you can stay for a longer period if necessary. Next time if we visit Sri Lanka, we will definetly come back !!
