HIllside Farm B & B

The property was absolutely beautiful!! Very peaceful and serene. The perfect place for my birthday weekend getaway.

What was there not to like? Everything was just wonderful. A+++

Incredibly clean, cozy, luxurious accommodations. Owners were super welcoming. Food was to die for...huge quantities and seriously delicious AND delivered to our door!! We felt so pampered!

Only that we couldn't stay longer

The tub was nice though there are restrictions on what they allow you to add to the bath. Breakfast was good. It was delivered each morning in a basket around 9-9:15. It’s handed to you directly (not left outside the door) so make sure you are decent before they arrive. Portions and the variety of items were generous. It’s a bit of a pain to gather up the dishes and return them to the main house each morning, but not too bad. Makes keeping items for later snacking inconvenient so bring your own containers if you aren’t huge breakfast eaters. Everything is served on real plates with real utensils which is a nice touch. Much better than disposable. The property wasn’t what we expected. It’s not so much a BNB as a farm that has 2 cottages made out of outbuildings that are rented out. There are others living on the farm, though every one we encountered was pleasant. The owners have 2 very enthusiastic dogs. We thought they were great, but be aware if you aren’t dog lovers or are not steady on your feet. The dogs are very lovable. There are also a number of farm cats on the property.

Not so much dislike but we could have walked in the door in 1990 and have a feeling the room would have looked exactly the same. If you are hoping for modern, this isn’t the place for you. If you like country craft style, you will love it. The fireplace was confusing at best and we rarely got it to actually look like more than smoldering embers. The heat stays on and as the room warms, it adjusts the flame. In other words, you either freeze or don’t really get to enjoy the fire. Minor, but we booked FOR the fireplace and ambiance. The TV isn’t huge. Personally I didn’t care but my partner did as he likes watching TV from bed. TV is an ok size if you’re sitting in the chairs but it’s 2 separate chairs, and no way to cuddle. For a place that caters to a romantic vibe, it’s a bit odd. The property is a little confusing as there aren’t great signs to know where to check in (side door of the main farmhouse), or where to park. Parking isn’t bad but it’s not right by the door either. The walkway is slightly uphill, then over uneven stones, and up a few steps. This isn’t a good place if you are mobility challenged. If you use a deliver service, expect to meet them at the entrance to the property.. The “kitchen” is more just a sink, mini fridge, and microwave. The coffee maker didn’t work and when I brought it to the owner’s attention, the replacement didn’t work either. Not the end of the world but kind of annoying. There is a drip machine and electric kettle but only a variety of K cups so both were kind of useless. The owners love their rules. They were perfectly nice but the signs with lengthy instructions and warnings didn’t make us feel welcome. Cost is a bit higher than for similar properties in the area.

The wonderful homemade breakfast which was so good. I didn't want to leave it was so good.

Parking

We loved everything, it was our second time staying here.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The cottage was very clean and perfect for our anniversary stay. Gary and Ann were gracious hosts. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

Nothing it was above and beyond what we expected

Beautiful farm like setting. Peaceful. The breakfast was amazing!

There were signs everywhere telling us about wrongdoings of previous guests, and the innkeeper also told us about several wrongdoings. We understood his reasoning behind it, but it made us feel uncomfortable.

It was roomy and quiet and had everything we needed. The hosts were so kind and helpful and the breakfast was amazing!!!

There was not one thing we didn’t like about this place!

The stable house we stayed in was spotless and well appointed. Plenty of towels, spa tub, king size bed, and kitchenette. Gary explained everything we needed to know about the unit and how to operate all the electronics and spa tub. Breakfast, made by Ann, was delivered to our room and was hot & delicious.

Nothing, everything was perfect.
