Happy Beach Resort

It is in a beautiful and secluded spot at the end of the Unawatuna beach, on the waters edge. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Samire, the manager is very friendly and helpful. We had great talks about Sri Lanka and the direct surroundings in particular. He is a community leader, who also tries to support small businesses and people who are in need of help. Beautiful location, turtles swimming out the front, other guests were friendly.

Rooms were very basic, no hot water & often no electricity. Owner was grumpy, seemed annoyed with us, even though we were unwell. No cleaning of rooms, no extra water bottles given. Breakfast was very rudimentary.

Райский уголок. Настоящий оазис в унаватуне. Вкусные и питательные завтраки, комфортно обустроенные номера и территория, очень внимательный управляющий. Было жаль уезжать и мы уже скучаем. Безусловно вернемся только сюда.

The accommodation was fantastic, right on the beachfront. My daughter could walk from our room to the shore barefoot. There was a foot-washing area and an outdoor shower as well. During breakfast we could even see giant sea turtles in the water. The surroundings were amazing — we could see the sea right from our bed. Our host, Sameers, was very kind and helpful, and he prepared an absolutely delicious breakfast for us.”

A little gem of a place. We had room 3 which had the most amazing hot shower and lovely sea view with our own sun terrace. The breakfasts were probably the best we have had over the last 3 weeks. Wild turtles PLEASE DON’T FEED OR TOUCH!!! right outside our room were an added bonus. Looks like nothing from the road but we were extremely happy with the service and room.

Helpful staff, breakfast was great, location was also decent. It was about a 15 minute walk to the lively beach area. Tuktuks cost about $1 for a 5-10 minute ride. It is easier to get around if you rent a scooter. Price was fine given that most accommodations in the area were higher. It seems that the area has built a lot newer and bigger hotels.

At times the Wifi wasn't too good in our room (we did not have beach view from our room). There was no room cleaning during our four-night stay.

Отель заявлен как 4*, комната делюкс. Не знаю, кто завысил оценку, отель тянет на 1*(. Какое-то обшарпанное здание, абсолютно не соответствующее представленным фото на Booking! Очень все старое, номер давно не ремонтировался. Соотношение цена-качество не соответствует. Обслуживание оооочень неторопливое на завтраке. Первый раз так ошиблась в бронировании. Единственный плюс-это вид на океан, но слева ему мешает забор из металлопрофиля, прямо-мешки с песком и облезший ржавый заборчик).

The location of property is excellent. Beach is just at the room door. Nothing can be better than this for a beach town stay.

If property is renovated to match its location, it would be a huge hit. With only 4 rooms, it's more like a home-stay rather than resort or hotel so if few more rooms are added to the property, it would make it a wonderful property.
