Waterfield House B&B

The breakfast was first class and to be delivered by our delightful host was quite unique and sit to enjoying our breakfast in the company of so many of our native bird species and with such wonderful views of glorious shrubs and the little stream running by leaves us with nothing but pleasant memories.

Being a person with limited mobility a grab rail on the wall in the shower cubical would have been really helpful as we bit to old to be showering together to aid my mobility, in my dreams of course but a grab rail would nice for the next visit.

From the moment we arrived at Waterfield House, we knew we had found somewhere truly special. Nestled in the beautiful village of Bradford Peverell near Dorchester, this stunning B&B exceeded every expectation and delivered a flawless five-star experience from start to finish. Our room was absolutely immaculate — beautifully furnished, exceptionally comfortable, and finished to an incredibly high standard. Every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered to create a warm, relaxing, and luxurious atmosphere. The bathroom was equally impressive: spacious, elegant, and spotless, with a real boutique hotel feel that added an extra touch of indulgence to our stay. What truly made Waterfield House unforgettable was the breathtaking setting. Sitting out on the balcony overlooking the peaceful river and the lush green countryside beyond was simply magical. Waking up to those tranquil views each morning was an experience in itself — calm, scenic, and utterly relaxing. It is the perfect place to unwind and escape the pressures of everyday life. Breakfast was nothing short of outstanding. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we have ever had — freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail were exceptional, setting us up perfectly for each day exploring the local area. The location is ideal for discovering Dorset and the surrounding countryside, with Dorchester and many beautiful nearby attractions just a short drive away. Whether you want peaceful countryside walks, coastal adventures, or historic sightseeing, Waterfield House is perfectly placed. Above all, what makes this B&B truly exceptional is the hostess, Niki. She is an absolute delight — warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making her guests feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble, and her kindness and hospitality made our stay even more memorable. Meeting her was a pleasure in itself.

Excellent host and hostess, breakfast couldn't be faulted, location was excellent over looking a stream and the river, simple walk across fields to local public house for an evening meal. The fields are part of a flood plain so walk may be weather dependant. Plenty of birds attend the bird feeders and seeing the lambs "play" together in the field adjacent to the balcony was very sweet.

The "drench" shower is not a choice for us and the hand held head cannot be positioned for use instead. I believe the shower enclosure should have a full closing door to prevent the water escaping - we got the bathroom door and floor very wet. Wet rooms and "open" shower enclosures were a fashion but for this application a double sliding door would be of benefit. A minor issue overall.

Wonderful B&B (and I’ve visited many of them). Stunning annexe completely separate from the house and a balcony overlooking the stream running into the River Frome. Lovely host ,Nicky, unobtrusive, incredibly helpful and relaxed. Room itself had every facility anyone could need. Full included breakfast was outstanding. My only complaint is that I so much wanted to stay more than just the one night we had. I know many people say this and never follow through - I WILL BE BACK.

Bit of a strange little issue but the TV remote did not react when on netflix or Prime, it did function well on the TV though.
