Matamata Lodge

The location was amazing, Glen and Mark were both fantastic hosts they made you feel so welcome and supplied a really nice evening meal.

Hosts were very friendly and offered many good suggestions for activities during our short stay. The accommodation was quite comfortable as well - rooms were kept regularly clean and they even put the air conditioning on for us in advance to prepare the room before we arrived after traveling during the day! Breakfast suite was great and homemade, featuring muesli, yoghurt, pancakes, cream, jams, muffins, juice, etc. - also had a coffee machine and complementary tawny port :).

Wonderful stay at the Matamata Lodge! Very well sign posted, especially at night. Glen was very welcoming. The studio apartment was beautiful - lovely decor and had everything you needed! Some lovely extra touches like complimentary port! The breakfast was in little containers that we could lay out ourselves which was really convenient and the blueberry pancakes and whipped cream were amazing! Thanks for a lovely stay.

Everything. Marc and Glen are welcoming hosts and provided a wonderful retreat. Staying at Matamata Lodge was more than just accomodation but rather an experience. Was the a perfect getaway with all the country and creature comforts one could ask for. Homemade breakfasts and bliss comfort.

I don’t have a negative thing to say about Matamata Lodge! It’s an idyllic slice of NZ yet very handy to town. The studio is kept immaculately clean and has everything you might need and more (some very tasty treats). Glenn was a supirb host and had very handy recommendations to offer. Definitely will be visiting again.

Comfortable,quiet and fashionable. Loved the thoughtful little touches which were in our fridge eg homemade blueberry pancakes, little jars of cream and fruit to top the pancakes, fresh fruit and home baked cookies Private and restful

nothing to dislike

The studio was amazing, beautiful bed and linens. A stunning feature wallpaper behind the bed. lovely touches of the homemade biscuits so yummy with a hot drink. Great nights sleep in the bed best in ages ! in the morning the perfect breakfast was delivered by Glen. He was very helpful on where to go , Hobbiton, Matamata and sights around the area , hot pools etc. it was a pleasure to stay at The Matamata Lodge on my travels . Will be back again !
