Comfortable, great host and great breakfast

The price is good for this area, the food was good and the staff pleasant. The room was basic and old and the hotel requires some investment and can be great. The shower was poor but it is what it is for the money so difficult to put a score on it.

This is a wonderful place to stay! On arrival, I was greeted warmly and shown to the room. Graham gave me a full run down of the room and house and made recommendations for good places to visit and eat around town. The room was beautifully set up, and complimentary biscuits and milk for tea were provided. The room had a lovely view of the yard to the rear of the property, and the bed was so comfortable I fell asleep promptly after a long day of travel. After showing me the room, Graham politely asked me what I'd like for breakfast and gave me plenty of space to get settled in. In the morning, after freshening up in the house's beautiful bathroom, I was presented with a delicious English breakfast, and at my encouragement, Graham sat down for a chat over while I ate. Within a few minutes, I was learning all about Graham's interesting life. This location is what I would imagine to be the finest of English hospitality in the countryside.

I should have stayed longer.

The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating to my needs. A lovely place to rest & relax. If in the area again, I would without a doubt stay again.
