The Burnside

My little dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Burnside. It exceeded all our expectations, and we had a super holiday. Facilities were excellent, with one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Good quality bedding, warm, cosy room, plenty closet space, lots of hot water in the shower, and more than sufficient facilities in the kitchenette. Loved having our own front door, much easier with the dog. Topped off by an excellent breakfast, good long breakfast slot, and very pleasant, friendly, welcoming hosts. First class. We will most definitely be back.

Exceptional 10 out of of 10, would definitely recommend. The location was a good base for touring and the property is in a wonderful, rural, quiet location made all the more welcoming by the owners.

We loved everything about this place! Jenna and Martin were very welcoming and have a lovely farm stay in converted stables. We had great weather so had a cooked breakfast outside each day (thanks Jenna!) met other guests and walked in the garden to see the horses, chickens and pond with the kids. There was also a swing ball play set which was fun. The accommodation was perfect for us and while the WiFi and mobile coverage can be limited depending on the unit it made for a more off grid and relaxing trip - we loved it and really want to come back!

The host Jenna was always on hand to give suggestions for touring and to attend to any enquiries. Breakfast was fabulous ..good range of cereals, fruits, nuts and a full English breakfast as requested. We loved the patio area for sitting out and the animals , chickens, horses just a short stride up the hill. WiFi worked well; Smart TV.. Cottage was, clean, comfortable and well thought out with board games, books of the area etc. Nearest town was Stanhope, about 15 mins with a full range of shops, pubs, cafes etc. Great base to your Weardale. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Burnside, would return and can recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the accommodation was amazing ! The breakfast was absolutely lovely and freshly cooked. We could not have asked for a better host who was amazingly accommodating and lovely. We will defo be back!!!
