We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it, especially for families. First of all, the owner was extremely friendly, hospitable, and welcoming. The staff were also very kind and helpful. Our "family room" was spacious and comfortable, with two separate rooms (1 kingsize bed and kids room: 3 single beds) - enough space for everyone. The bathroom was very clean, and the shower had strong water pressure with plenty of hot water. We also appreciated the nice white towels, shampoo, soap, shower gel, and even flip-flops provided after the shower, which was a very thoughtful touch. The entire hotel, including the rooms and breakfast area, was spotless. Breakfast was very good with both a traditional English breakfast and continental options. You could enjoy toast, eggs, baked ham, baked tomatoes, yoghurt, cornflakes, jam, cheese, salami, croissants, orange juice, coffee, and tea. For families of 2 adults and 2 children, we would recommend taking a taxi to the city centre rather than the bus — the total cost is similar, but a taxi is much more comfortable. It is also possible to walk to the centre, which takes around 40 minutes. The hotel is located in a quiet area, and right next door there is a very good pub and restaurant with reasonable prices and delicious beef steaks. Overall, a very nice stay for people who like small English guesthouses!

1) Be aware that if you arrive after reception closes at 10:00 PM, you must pay in advance—a policy not mentioned during booking. The hotel offered no flexibility to pay the next morning. Because the booking platform’s website didn't allow for credit card updates, we ultimately had to read our card details over the phone to secure our room. 2) the car park was full, although we clicked during the booking that we would like to use the car park. Fortunately, there is a restaurant next door with plenty of parking for free as well.

The location is perfect and it was such a lovely place. My highest praise goes to the cleanliness of the rooms. This is usually my gripe - when I go to a hotel and only surface cleaning is done (and you can tell). The Cambridge Guest House was genuinely spotless and that gave me a lot of ease. The other amazing part was the breakfast, it was a really lovely set up, and the hosts were even lovelier - very sweet and very kind and responded to my allergies with alternative options. Really appreciated that 🙏🏼

The main door can be a little hard to figure out, as it would sometimes jam and this frustrated quite a lot of guests. And they'd bang furiously on the door (which wasn't great if you were staying on the ground floor 😅). But other than that, everything else was perfect.

Nice bedding, fluffy towels, slippers, comfortable beds. Generous hospitality tray, iron, ironing board and hair dryer all in room. Good location, short bus ride into the city. Easy parking. Enzo cooked a delicious breakfast and there were plenty of continental choices too.
