No AC but it was ok at night with a fan. Shouldn’t be a problem in the right season.

so, why would I walk away from a 696usd non-refundable stay at La Betulia after one night. The Booking.com listing shows: " Single-room AC for guest accommodation". In fact, the only thing provided was a fan, which did not function well. It was 92F/34C and the room was like an oven. It was impossible to get any rest. La Betulia is located in a residential neighborhood, and dogs barked much of the night. The mattress was also hard. The owner/manager was away. The kitchen staff were the only people I could address complaints/concerns to. The breakfast offering was average and nothing special. There are many nice hotels in the same price range, much better located in the Centro Historico, with air-conditioning and much better value. Oaxaca in the summer months is very hot. La Betulia reminded more of a youth hostel type accommodation. The mystery is how in the world it gets a 9.5 rating, unless there is some manipulation of the rating. My advice would be to avoid this place at all costs. In the future, I'll be more skeptical of high ratings.

Great staff, great breakfast. The room was clean, nice decor. It’s a bit of an oasis from the city. I would recommend highly. Great Taqueria 100m away also.

Breakfast was superb! Staff were lovely and so accommodating.

The shower was broken at first, but we told the staff and they fixed it.

Location is very central, the rooms are very nice, the breakfast is amazing and the staff is very welcoming. We had a very pleasant stay.
