Duck Inn Lodge

Ok, let's be real for a moment. Duck Inn is one of those.. "Wow this would have been nice once" places and don't get me wrong its not overly flawed its just a bit rustic and past its glory days. The room was dated, dark and cavern like but the deck out over the river was a nice space to sit and watch the locals on paddle boards float by. The bed itself was a sleigh style with a large comfortable bed. It had an 80's spa bath which we didn't use. The bathroom was ok.

The room was on a level lower than the reception/lounge area. You could clearly hear foot steps from above which went beyond 1.30am and began again at 5.30am presumably as the staff set up for breakfast. Oh! Breakfast! That was weird! No toast, only one choice of sugary cereal, a homemade strawberry parfait, waffles, or a broccoli frittata. Coffee, no black tea. Wow!

breakfast was great every morning. they provided options for my family who need to be dairy free. the room was very comfortable and clean, and the view of the river was beautiful to look out at. service was always impeccable and kind. just really nice people taking care of you and the inn

We liked sitting on the deck by the River, staff was friendly, easy access to town.
