Pahari Soul

The location was really good at a non deinable price. We stayed for two days and it was a pleasant stay with all modern amenities like a gyser in the bathroom, wifi connection, electrified mattress warmer and electric kettle for your morning needs. It was a overall clean place and also had balcony to sit and chat arround.

Short circuit and problems with loadshedding is a problem that could have been solved. And the doors were made of see through glass though they had curtains but it would have been nicer if they had solid doors and more lights in the walkway.

Having stayed one night in Pahari Soul, I extended my stay to enjoy my visit to Darjeeling. The room was spacious, the bed warm and comfortable, and the balcony is facing the beautiful Himalaya mountains. One can see the snowy peaks in a clear day. The bathroom had hot water and was of a good size. Besides, the UNESCO heritage 'Toy train' passes just in front of Pahari Soul, which is an experience that Darjeeling offers and that I recommend for the sake of discovery. Also, it's possible to visit the Peace Pagoda by walking and the old and new markets are not too far by walking, and even closer travelling with one of the shared cabs for about 10-20 Ru. I enjoyed my stay there and I recommend it to visitors of Darjeeling.

The room got quite cold at night, and even if the bed was warm with electric heating, I was wearing many clothes to keep myself warm when out of the bed. Something that helped me is to walk up the mountains: in matter of minutes, the body gets warm again. That would be the only minus, otherwise is a beautiful place to stay in Darjeeling and I appreciate my visir and my stay.

Pahari Soul is located in with views to the beautiful mountains. Also, it is relatively close to Peace Pagoda by walking. The toy train passes just in front of the Hotel, which is kind of nice because it is something I cannot see in other places. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, hot water in the bathroom and beautiful views from the balcony. The room was a bit cold, though, but the heating blanket in the bed made it bearable. It is indeed a bit colder in the mountains than in the valleys of India.

I would have enjoyed more comfort with a heater, because the room gets cold at night. Also, an electrical socket, conveniently placed by the bed, was not working, but I found a solution by rearranging the room a bit during my stay. The cold water faucet in the bathroom was not working (not hot water), so I had to remember to use cold water before turning on the water heater, if I wanted to brush my teeth without getting burned. The room was a bit dusty, mainly because there were building a new floor on the top of the building, I guess to accomodate more rooms. All in all, great location, amazing views, comfortable bed, and spacious room.
