Barmoors

Alice was a wonderful host. We arrived after a very long journey and Alice welcomed us with tea and cake in her beautiful garden. The room was huge, lovely high ceiling which meant it was cool as the weather was very hot during our stay. A huge comfortable bed with a wonderful view to the garden. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked each day. Alice always made sure everything was perfect. With just two rooms it was lovely to share breakfast with the other two guests. The location was beautiful and easy access to the surrounding moors.

The private bathroom is down a shared corridor which wasn't a problem for us but can make night time toilet trips a little longer and I would recommend a dressing gown in case you pass other guests after a shower.

Beautiful period home with exeptional views. Really well located to get in to Hutton le hole and the surrounding areas. The owner was so welcoming and went above and beyond to look after my Dad who stayed at the property for one of the days in our visit. Cosy, comfy living area, no TV so we had books to hand. The breakfast was one of the best we've had, very tasty. We also had cake and tea. A very welcoming host. I would recommend this place to those seeking peace and quiet and love a period house

Lovely 18th Century stone farmhouse with pretty garden and wonderful views. We were extremely well looked after by Alice who gave us tea and homemade cake on arrival and delicious breakfasts. We felt totally at home and loved our stay. Special mention to Stanley and Musket who added to the feeling of being at home! Pub in the local village was convenient and friendly. Helmsley is a very attractive market town 7 miles away. Beautiful local country with lots of places of interest to visit. Highly recommend.

Beautiful setting in a rural area. Wonderful well kept garden. A traditional farmhouse with plenty of character.

Absolutely nothing 😊

Alice couldn't have been a better host. Tea and homemade (vegan) cake on arrival. A short tour of the facilities and we were home from home. A different cooked vegan breakfast every morning (nothing ultra processed here!) We were aware the bathroom would be across the hall so came prepared. The bathroom was huge! Lovely hot and powerful shower (we didn't try the bath) and stunning views from both the bathroom and bedroom. Bed was very comfortable with good pillows. Again, beautiful views and comfy seating. The guest sitting room was cosy with a log burner. Comfortable room to spend the evening. Lots of interesting books. An old hunting lodge sympathetically decorated and with everything you could ask for. Great location as well. Oh, and can't overlook Musket and Stan, the two friendly dogs.

Nothing I didn't like... Lovely large bathroom dedicated to us, but down a shared corridor so best to take a dressing gown! (Only 2 rooms though so not a big problem) No kettle in the room, but able to use the tea bar downstairs at any time

It has countryside feeling on the edge of a village. Amazing to stay in a house so old.

We had a 3 week trip touring the UK and Barmoors was the best place we stayed. We agree with all the other reviewers about the exceptional service, characterful property, fantastic location and beautiful view.
