"Adequate"

4.0

Disappointed with breakfast which was a mere bag in the room. Spent £17 in a nearby cafe having a full English, the sort of meal I wanted. But the room was clean and comfy, and I really liked the huge shower room/toilet.

Disappointing breakfast. See above.

Loud music playing to the empty street made it difficult to catch up on emails and calls

"Great value, lovely staff, beautiful views, bring ear plugs"

8.0

Such a great location. Cracking view of the harbour out the bedroom window

The road outside was chaotic. Racers doing the barbican lap were loud. Might just be a Saturday night thing…

"Hidden gem that’s right on the harbour"

10.0

Little gem right on the marina. Stayed here for one night in a single room the room it’s self was perfect with a view overlooking the harbour. Comfy single bed, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv , bathroom with a shower, clean fluffy towels and bedding I can’t fault the place at all. Travelled from up north to see my daughter (@catroseofficial), perform at the barbican theatre which is right next door. They even let me check in a bit early and allowed me to put some flyers in the pub. Was a great nights sleep too even though it’s right on the front. Espérate entrance to the pub is great as I was a bit worried about getting back at 2am. I will most definitely be using this place again. Coming back in October for my daughters album launch and will be booking for more than one night. Close to all the barbican has to offer too and plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants on your door step .

There was nothing I didn’t like

"Very pleasing stay in an historic building and location. I also loved view over the water."

8.0

Just what I needed in terms of location. Historic building and great pub. Very helpful staff. The room was basic but perfectly fine for me.

Sorry to moan about this, because I’m sure there was a reason they had to have one, but I hated the macerator loo. It was very noisy and did not work well.

"Great location - falls short in every other aspect though."

3.0

The location beside the harbour and the views were great. It was near plenty of eateries and a bustling night life. There was a lovely walk beside the harbour and around the sea edge.

This was not a hotel. There was no reception , we collected the keys from the bar below. The “breakfast” consisted of 2 coco pops bars, 2 cartons of pure orange, 2 bananas, and 2 pain au chocolate waiting for us on arrival in the room. There was a combustible toilet squashed into a tiny en-suite bathroom that was smelly. The bed was a small double and access to the room was up a staircase that was barely 2 foot wide with no handrails. The hoovers and cleaning equipment was stored outside the door in the hallway. It was incredibly noisy outside with cars racing by and people noise on the way home from the bars. I wouldn’t have minded staying in this room but not for the price we paid as it was only for 1 night. The parking was on street (paid) or a car park at the bottom of the road.
