Location and Seaview

Nothing good value for money. It was the first time using a mechanical toilet. Instructions would of been nice but I did figure it out

"Stay at Admiral Macbride"

8.0

Excellent location on the barbican, clean room, helpful staff. Great communication with the owner who sorted out my problem with the breakfast due to dietary requirements swiftly and without hastle. Pub downstairs was fantastic and great atmosphere and within short distance to harbour and restaurants. It had everything we needed for our stay.

It was a bit noisy due to the single glazed sash windows but they were in keeping with the old building and it was on a busy Friday night.

The view was lovely!

The bed was VERY squeaky. Only had to move a toe and the noise from the bed was unbareable. I had to put a pillow between the wall and the head of the bed as the head of the bed was loose! to try stop some noise but because the bed is wooden the whole of it was squeeking. The radiator you couldnt turn down it was stuck on high, as someone whos always hot especially overnight this wasnt great. The wind was up and it sounded like the window was about to take off with it the whole night. The bathroom is tiny. The shower was continuously dripping so put it on the shower base so i didnt hear it. The two staff i met on the day of staying were lovely! The one staff member i handed my keys too.............not so much. Seemed rude and like she had an attitude problem. So i hope she fixes her face and attitude 😊

The location was brilliant. Interesting watching the shipping, tugs and a variety of boats. Great view of the harbour from the bed! The packed breakfast worked well for me as I like porridge but my husband missed it out as no honey! The room was spotlessly clean , bathroom too. Full marks for that!

No Honey with the porridge. Narrow steep stairs with no handrail on half of the staircase. Difficult with heavy Large luggage.

"Fine for one night."

7.0

Superb location overlooking the old harbour by the Mayflower Steps. Walk up the hill (a steady climb but not awful) to the Hoe and promenade. Plenty of places to eat and drink along the road. Quirky and interesting artwork on walls.

The room is fine for one night but small and the bed not very comfortable. There was no advance warning about the steep staircase to the rooms. I had to ask for a hairdryer as there didn’t seem enough for all the rooms. Nowhere nearby for breakfast before 9am.
