Grey Ridge Vineyard Experience

The grounds were beautiful and it was really fun to walk through the vineyard and learn about the growing process. The hosts were charming; having dinner and chatting with them was a lovely time.

This was my second time visiting New Zealand, and by chance, I decided to dive deeper into its wine culture — which led me to Alexandra. What a wonderful surprise! This stay turned out to be the highlight of my entire trip — peaceful, private, and deeply relaxing. Paul and Sue were the most amazing hosts. From the wine tasting to the outdoor tour and our delightful dinner together, every moment felt warm, fulfilling, and full of joy. It was such a pleasure meeting them! The accommodation was simply perfect — spotless, comfortable, and beautifully set up. I honestly couldn’t find a single thing to fault. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in New Zealand, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants to slow down, unwind, and experience what true travel feels like.

Everything is perfect

We had the best time from the moment we arrived to when we left. Sue and Paul were super friendly and welcoming—such lovely hosts. They showed us around, offered a complimentary wine tasting (which we definitely said yes to!), and then we settled into our superior studio. It was really comfy and had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find we were the only guests which made it feel unique. We skipped the vineyard tour since it was a bit too cold, but we did go for the dinner option—and we’re so glad we did. It turned out to be a fantastic evening with delicious food, great conversation, and plenty of their amazing Pinot wines to enjoy. Breakfast was also delicious. And the view from the house? Just stunning. The garden, the vines, and the mountains in the background—it was all picture-perfect.

It was cozy and well equipped, though the heater made some crackling noise—not the most pleasant sound, but nothing that ruined the stay.

Our time spent here was perfect from the moment we arrived to the time we left. We were met by our very friendly, warm, welcoming hosts Sue & Paul. After showing us around and asking if we wanted a complimentary wine tasting & tour, we settled in our one bedroom Studio, which was very comfortable and well appointed. We took up the dinner option & had a wonderful, memorable evening full of delicious food, good fun conversation and of course their fabulous Pinot wines enjoyed by all of us. Another highlight of course is the magnificent view from the house over their great garden & extended to the Vines and the majestic background of the Grey Ridge, just amazing! We had a lovely two bedroom maisonette just off of the main house. Sue and Paul were delightful hosts. We had a tour of the vineyard and a tasting. The grounds were immaculate and we were made to feel very welcome. There was a great bathtub with bubble bath and a candle. Heaven!

It is an operating vineyard in a rural setting. Peacefull with everybody working hard .
