Pennygate Lodge

Located in a beautiful old manse that looks directly at the harbor. It is surrounded by a well kept garden, and the proprietors have thought of everything down to individual bottles of water and milk that they keep chilled for guests.

Pennygate Lodge is a really friendly and comfortable place to say, very close to the ferry terminal. The food was delicious and imaginative, using herbs from the garden. The room was warm and cosy with lovely toiletries. There is a peaceful lounge to read in, with a beautiful view over the garden and bay.

Thank you Fiona and Tony for a wonderful stay, and a special thank you to Chef David and Agne for your delectable breakfasts and evening dinners- quite exceptional! The views across the immaculately maintained garden to the bay from the stately lounge area of the beautifully refurbished old Manse building were so serene. It was such a pleasure to be able to park easily on site after long days exploring the Island and not have to drive again to find a restaurant for dinner.

Location and excellent breakfast

No milk on arrival and no signal to tell someone that we had arrived. Luckily another guest arrived at the same time who used his phone to ring the contact number.

the host and hostess were lovely and helpful. The menu in the restaurant was a little limited but it didn't matter because the food was excellent. The room was comfortable.

El desayuno excelente, el baño impecable y buena ducha. La vista y la tranquilidad del lugar. El restaurante de nivel Michelin.

El cuarto muy chico, sin ropero. El horario del desayuno máximo a las 9:00 de la mañana. La entrada al hotel desde las 4 de la tarde, hay que estar con las valijas encima hasta esa hora. Para cenar te obligan a pedir al menos dos platos como minimo por persona, aunque comimos excelente. El precio no condice lo que es.
