Pennygate Lodge

We loved the views of the sea and peir from the front windows. The period box sash windows all fully restored to modern standards kweping the original designs replicated perfectly. The decor was superb and spotless and when we went down for breakfast. The dining room was beautifully lit and elegant. This really was pleasant and the food quality along with the wonderfully friendky service just made it all the better 😍

Comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The garden is beautiful.

It’s difficult to think of anything.

Location was very quiet but close enough to walk to the local pub and even the ferry. We had 2 evening meals, and they were both excellent. Breakfasts were very good. Room was very clean and comfortable with a view out to the ferry.

It was a lovely lodge for B&B, and I would go again, but a tad expensive.

The location and view was superb. The rooms were extremely comfortable and had everything you needed for your stay. The staff were so welcoming and it felt like home from home. The onsite restaurant was unreal. The food was unbelievable. Matthew could not do enough, making the restaurant a relaxed environment. Pauline, the chef was a wizard in the kitchen both evening meals and breakfasts. We will 100% be back to Pennygate lodge and will be recommending this property to anyone we know who will be visiting the island. Angela and Alan

Absolutely nothing

Very comfortable and modern room. Tony is an exceptional host. We got a second duvet on request, there's tea and coffee in the room, the lounge downstairs is very cozy. Spectacular dinner, had the chance to get a spontaneous slot, usually would recommend to book ahead. Matthew, who's in charge with service there (his wife is the chef in the kitchen), was lovely and even helped us to get acquainted with whiskey. Breakfast is also provided by him and his wife and we totally recommend the scottish breakfast. Best Haggis we've ever had!

The rooms are not the largest and it seems that there are no twin bed options.

The breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly. Great parking. Beautiful views from the front of the house but we were overlooking the car park. Beautiful location, lovely room. The shower was powerful which is always good. It is more a walkers destination though.

There where a few things due the price point I thought could be improved. The tea tray was basic, no hot chocolate and we had to buy sugar as only a few satchets provided and you have more than one tea a day. They did however provide fresh milk not the uht stuff and that was really nice. The only other thing is we left our towels on the floor beside the shower to show they had been used. When we got back to the room after it being cleaned the same towels where just hung back in the radiator and not changed.
