Breakfast was beautiful and Mary was so accommodating and gave us a free upgrade. She also referred us to some of the sights in the area in which we checked out

The homestead is surrounded by mature trees. The character of the 19 century home is maintained to a high standard. The hostess is friendly and very helpful. The grade noise great.

There is nothing I don't like about this place.

"A wonderful traditional homestead experience"

A beautiful old house. We took the option to have supper cooked by the host - absolutely delicious. Mary was a welcoming and excellent host

It’s an old house so maybe cold when the sun goes down in the evening ( we went late spring ) but there were electric blankets and lots of blankets so very manageable

"A Peel Forest getaway with friends."

Wonderful old homestead. Mary was very accommodating and pleasant and chatty. Lovely gardens and animals around the homestead. Great to have an evening meal provided by Mary.

The dogs were lovely but did bark a bit even at night. Only one shower available. The beds were very warm but a bit old.

Property was advertised as a twin shared bathroom facility in a country setting, see attached screenshot

After paying for the booking my confirmation letter stated that there was no electricity, water or heating in the unit. Torches would be provided to see in the unit and walk the two minutes to the shared bathroom facilities in the main homestead. This information is NOT provided on the Booking.com site I am a regular tramper and very familiar with rustic back country huts which have a fireplace and cost twenty times less. I would not stay in a hut in the middle of winter. Why would anyone offer this type of accommodation without providing details upfront? Doesn’t help to be sent the details with the option of upgrading or cancelling after you’ve paid for the non refundable booking? See screenshot 2
