Water pressure drops when both bathrooms are used at the same time.

Beautiful rustic guesthouse in forested setting a couple of kms outside the gorgeous onsen town, Kurokawa Onsen. You need a car to travel in this area. Had a large bedroom and separate living area. Well equipped. Private onsen in building next door. The cabin was heated and cosy when we arrived on a cold night. Very clear and helpful pre-arrival information provided in English. Fantastic western style breakfast and gourmet Japanese evening meal provided. Amazing value for money. Would not hesitate to stay again. Brilliant place with charming and helpful host.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy nature while doing a roadtrip, this place is just perfect for you!! I loved all the aspects of this place. Starting from pre-arrival as the host will contact you ahead of time to give you some advices and head-ups (as the place is nothing near any public transportation), the cabin is HUGE considering if you are traveling in Japan, breakfasts and hosts themselves are also super nice! Definitely coming back to this place during winter next time!

The bathroom is shared (you could also use an Onsen too) Although there is nothing wrong with the place. Just plan and manage yourself accordingly if you are staying here during high-season. Restaurants in the area also close very early (4-5 PM). But it’s a big deal as eating a meal of convenience store’s food won’t kill you right away.
