The view from our bedroom is spectacular

The room had a commanding view of Lake Batur. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The room we had was relatively private, and the small private pool was cold and refreshing. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of small stores, bars, local restaurants, and hot springs. It’s a breathtaking spot - the play of light and cloud across the Lake and surrounding peaks is truly stunning. There were birds, squirrels, pretty trees and flowers all around us. A boat trip on the Lake was magical, and the small local hot spring nearby was a lovely experience in the late afternoon.

The room had a strong smell of mold coming from the bathroom. The air conditioning unit was near the bed leaked onto the floor and onto the light switches continuously. There was a large puddle of water on the floor when we checked in. When we pointed it out to the young man who helped with our bags, he brought a mop and cleaned it up and left us with a hand towel to put under the drips. We put a waste paper bin to catch the drips which filled up twice during our two night visit. The electrical hazard and the constant sound of dripping almost drove us away. The entrance to the property is via a filthy laneway between two stores. It’s a truly grim arrival experience (although to be fair the whole Lake Batur area is strewn with trash compared to other parts of Bali). A bit of paving and fencing of the entrance would better reflect how nice the hotel is. Not something the hotel can manage, but the number of flies in the Lake Batur area is truly phenomenal. Doing anything outside - sitting on the pool deck, eating in the hotel restaurant - means batting hundreds of flies away. Our room was not serviced once in three days. The beds weren’t made, the towels weren’t changed, no plates were collected (although food was brought on time, and hot). There were numerous maintenance issues in the room. The bedside lamp didn’t work, the tap in the bathroom sink was only loosely connected to the table, there was visible mold, and the air conditioner leaked directly onto the bathroom light switch. The deck outside our room had a bunch of dangerous loose boards, and the edge of the deck was almost completely unsupported so that you risked pitching into the onion field below it.

The floor is very slippery, there are no mats at all, there are lots of flies, the owner doesn't care about this, there are only 2 sunbeds in 3 rooms, it's not comfortable

The washroom smelled like sewage.

There were only 2 sockets in the room so if you want to charge your devices, you need to unplug a floor lamp or a kettle. Also, this room has low soundproofing.

Love dthis location an dthe room was great too. If I wasn't off on a ferry the next day would have liked to stay for longer and explored Padangbai. The food was reasonable also and the staff were very friendly.

The view of the lake and mountain is exceptional.

The property is well looked after.
