DAAD FAH home and cafe

Modern, clean and well situated guest house in the centre of Phetchaburi. Rooms were of a good size and staff, despite speaking little English, were polite and helpful. Pretty standard accommodation overall, but extra marks here for the lovely rooftop terrace and view of the floodlit Temples at night.

As others have mentioned, the breakfast ( which must be ordered when you check in, a pet hate) was pretty meagre- and seemingly scrambled eggs (from fried) were a request too far. No elevator so be prepared for the 4 flights up to the terrace, the signature appeal of this guest house. The onsite Coffee Shop appeared to be only open on request during our stay.

Very nicely appointed bright room that was spotlessly clean. Great view of the National Park from my bedroom window & from rooftop. Within easy walking distance of railway station.

Room was on the third floor. No lift, though I did get help with baggage up & down. No tea or coffee making facilities in thrd room, which was a big negative. No safety deposit box, which is very important to me as I travel. Breakfast was VERY disappointing. Two lukewarm fried eggs, 3 cherry tomatoes, a small amount of grated carrot & red cabbage & 2 lettuce leaves. 3 slices of bland bread - no possibility of toast. Anchor butters & two sachets of awful jam. Tea or coffee. Two small oranges. I was still really hungry after that breakfast.

The location is great if you want to visit the cave and/or the Historical Park, also really close to the train station. The couple managing this property is super kind and helpful, you won't find anything lacking.

The owner was pretty chill. The Internet was fast, place was clean, had private parking, basically a pretty good deal
